Bioparox instructions for use. Bioparox: instructions for use and what it is for, price, reviews, analogues. Gastrointestinal disorders

Bioparox is an effective medicinal inhalation drug that is used for the rapid treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract. This product contains the active substance fusafungin, a broad-spectrum polypeptide antibiotic. Instructions for use ✅ Bioparox indicates that the drug ✅ has a bacteriostatic effect on pathogenic organisms and fungi.

That is, the drug has a powerful antiviral and anti-inflammatory effect. Bioparox will quickly eliminate symptoms such as runny nose, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sore throat, nasal congestion. The drug also effectively fights bronchitis, colds and prevents the development of pneumonia and sinusitis.

Bioparox is an antibiotic that is intended for topical use. The drug is produced by the French pharmaceutical company Servier Laboratories in the form of a convenient aerosol bottle (20 ml). The bottle contains 400 doses. Included with the medicine are special nozzles for adults and children.

The active drug substance of the drug is fusafungin, which stops the vital activity of pathogenic organisms and the further reproduction of pathogens. Bioparox is active against bacteria that cause diseases of the upper respiratory tract and nasopharynx - yeast-like fungi, staphylococci, streptococci. A feature of this drug is the instability of bacteria to the drug.

The drug has a pronounced antifungal and antibacterial effect. The drug eliminates inflammation, lowers the concentration of protein in tissues, and suppresses toxic free radicals. With properly prescribed therapy, Bioparox penetrates into the farthest parts of the respiratory tract. Directly during the aerosol inhalation procedure, most small particles linger on the walls of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx, penetrate deeply into its tissues, into the nasal sinuses and eliminate nasal congestion, swelling of the mucous membrane, and discharge from the nasal passages.

When inhaled, the active drug substance practically does not penetrate into the bloodstream, but only enters the surface tissues of the nasopharynx. In the blood, the drug can be detected only in small quantities, so the drug does not have a general effect on the body. It is non-toxic and completely safe.

The composition of the drug includes medicinal components that help eliminate the infection and prevent the development of complications in the disease.

  • fusafungin;
  • aromatic additive;
  • ethanol;
  • isopropyl myristate;
  • saccharin;
  • norflurane.

The drug is an oily liquid with a slight characteristic yellow odor. The medicine is available in an aluminum bottle with a convenient dosing valve. The kit comes with three nozzles of different colors. The yellow nozzle is intended for primary use, the white nozzle is for inhalation through the mouth, and the transparent nozzle is for children's inhalation through the nasal passages. One container contains 400 doses.

Indications for use

  • acute tonsillitis;
  • angina;
  • chronic tonsillitis;
  • pharyngitis;
  • sinusitis;
  • sinusitis;
  • laryngitis;
  • postoperative therapy when removing the tonsils;
  • acute infections of the nasopharynx;
  • respiratory infections.

The drug is released without a prescription. Shelf life - two years.

Application

Spray Bioparox is intended for inhalation. They must be carried out with a deep breath, which will allow the particles of the drug to penetrate to the bronchioles (small bronchi). This medicine is widely used to treat the respiratory tract and ENT diseases. It quickly and effectively cures colds in adults and children and is recommended for use in complex therapy.

It is important to start treatment with the drug in a timely manner, this will prevent the further spread of infection and the development of complications. The medicine is also used to prevent sinusitis with a cold.

The drug is also widely used in the treatment of angina. The inflammatory process in this disease begins in the palatine tonsils and is of bacterial origin. Usually the disease begins with catarrhal manifestations - redness, as well as swelling of the mucous membranes. Inflammation can develop into purulent or follicular tonsillitis. With the lacunar form of the disease, pus begins to accumulate in the lacunae of the tonsils. Follicular abscesses may appear on the surface of the tonsils.

The medicinal spray does an excellent job with angina at the very beginning of its development, in the phase of the catarrhal inflammatory process. If angina is caused by a pathogen that is sensitive to the drug, then Bioparox will quickly stop the development of the disease. In the case when the state of health does not improve within three days, systemic treatment is required. Bioparox with angina is not often prescribed. It is more widely used only at the initial stage of the disease, as well as in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis and inflammation of the palatine tonsils. The use of the drug is indicated at the initial stage of angina. In the case of the development of purulent tonsillitis, the doctor prescribes general therapy with other medicines.

Bioparox copes well with exacerbations of chronic tonsillitis, as it is an effective antibiotic that is designed to fight infection. The drug actively affects bacteria, prevents their vital activity and reproduction. As a result of treatment with the drug, sore throats, perspiration, redness and swelling of tissues are eliminated. The drug can be used repeatedly during the day.

With the development of such a complication as sinusitis, the medicine is also prescribed in the initial stages. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the paranasal sinuses. The acute course of the disease manifests itself as a complication of a respiratory infection. Next comes a bacterial infection. Bioparox helps prevent the development of complications and blocks the reproduction of pathogenic bacteria.

The main signs of the onset of sinusitis are nasal congestion and swelling, headache, fever. Bioparox eliminates all these symptoms and effectively helps to cope with the onset of sinusitis. Acute sinusitis cannot be cured with Bioparox alone. Therefore, with such a diagnosis, the drug is used in complex therapy with other drugs. If health improvement does not occur within three days, general antibiotics are prescribed by the doctor.

Instructions for use

This remedy is used as inhalation through the mouth or nasal passages. Before starting the procedure, you need to activate the bottle by pressing the valve. With rhinitis, sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis, the medicine is injected into each nostril. Before treatment, it is required to clear the nose of secretions.

A nozzle is put on the spray can, after which it must be taken in hand. The balloon should be held vertically. The nozzle is gently inserted into the nostril. The second nostril is closed with the free hand. Then a breath is taken, after which you need to press the base of the can to inject the medicine into the nasal passage. The procedure must be carried out with a closed mouth. Inhalation must be done through the nose.

For infections of the throat and upper respiratory tract, inhalation is carried out through the mouth. A white nozzle is put on the can. The balloon is held vertically in the hand. The nozzle is inserted into the mouth and clamped with the lips. It is required to take a deep breath through the mouth and press the spray dispenser. For complete irrigation of the upper respiratory tract, it is necessary to hold your own breath after the drug is injected into the oral cavity.

During the procedures, it is important to constantly disinfect the nozzles used.

The dosage of the drug and the duration of therapy is prescribed by the attending physician. Application scheme:

Reviews of the use of Bioparox indicate that the drug is well tolerated by the body and rarely causes side effects. Those patients who used this remedy in the treatment of the disease note a significant improvement in well-being, elimination of sore throat and nasal discharge. The drug is quickly absorbed into the mucous membrane and almost instantly begins its medicinal effect.

Of the side effects in rare cases, there may be:

  • dryness of the mucous membrane;
  • burning;
  • sneezing
  • nausea;
  • taste change;
  • lacrimation;
  • hives;
  • skin itching.

If you experience any side effects, you should consult your doctor. It is possible that he will change the drug to another drug.

In pediatrics, Bioparox can be used from the age of two. Children who are younger are not prescribed the drug due to an increased risk of laryngospasm. Spasm of the glottis can be very dangerous - in such a situation, the child cannot breathe in and out. Therefore, the drug should be prescribed with great care and control of inhalation.

It is advisable not to use the medication in treatment if there is any allergic reaction. The drug is low toxic and well tolerated by the child's body. The main contraindication to the use of the drug is hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. The course of treatment should not exceed seven days.

During pregnancy

There are currently no clinical data on the use of Bioparox during childbearing. However, no genotoxic effects or adverse effects on the developing fetus have been identified in animal studies. It is necessary to prescribe the drug during pregnancy with caution.

When prescribing a drug during pregnancy, the doctor should take into account the possible risks of fetal development and the benefits to the mother. At the same time, it is necessary to control the well-being of the expectant mother. At the first negative manifestations and side effects, the use of the drug must be stopped.

The composition of the spray includes the antibiotic fusafungin. When inhaled, it is not found in the blood. According to the instructions, the drug can be used during pregnancy only on prescription. You should be aware that taking any drug is associated with a certain risk.

In early pregnancy, due to the low absorption of the active drug substance, the drug cannot have a negative effect on the fetus. A developing infection can bring much more harm, so it needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. The use of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy requires a mandatory follow-up examination of the fetus.

In the second trimester, the mother's cold is no longer so terrible for the fetus. The unborn child has already formed organs, and the virus no longer has a great influence on its development. In the third trimester, the development of infection can provoke premature birth. Treatment with Bioparox will prevent the development of the disease and minimize the risk of preterm birth. However, uncontrolled use of the drug during pregnancy should not be.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Fusafungin is an antibiotic or not?

Wikipedia to the question “Fusafungin - what is it?” replies that the substance is polypeptide antibiotic of local action with anti-inflammatory activity . It is obtained from strain 437 of the culture of the fungus Fusarium lateritium.

The drug is effective against Gram (+) bacteria (group A streptococci (Str. pyogenes), Str. pneumoniae, Staphylococcus spp.); Gram (-) bacteria (including individual strains of Neisseria, Legionella pneumophila, Moraxella catarrhalis, Haemophilus influenzae); some anaerobes, fungi of the genus Candida, mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma spp.).

Pharmacodynamics

When administered by inhalation fusafungin settles on the surface of the mucous membrane of the organs of the external respiratory system, the substance is not detected in the blood plasma. The aerosol form provides complete coverage of the respiratory tract mucosa and penetration into the bronchioles and sinuses.

After four inhalations through each nasal passage or through the mouth, the concentration fusafungin V bronchi and trachea reaches 0.04, in nasal cavity - 0.06, and in lungs - 0.08 mg / ml.

The drug reduces exudation, relieves swelling and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the respiratory system, improves nasal breathing. Practical experience shows that the effectiveness of therapy is higher if treatment with Bioparox is started early.

Fusafungin does not reduce effectiveness antimicrobials for systemic use. There are no reports of the development of cross- or acquired resistance.

Pharmacokinetics

After use in the form of inhalation, the drug is distributed mainly on the surface of the mucous membrane in the nose, mouth and pharynx. The concentration of the substance in the blood plasma does not exceed 1 ng / ml and does not affect the safety of Bioparox.

Indications for use

Bioparox spray is used for topical treatment inflammatory and infectious diseases of the organs of the external respiratory system . He is appointed at , at and , at And tonsillitis , at , sinusitis And , as well as in conditions after the operation to remove tonsils (palatine tonsils ).

The expediency of using Bioparox in angina

Some are afraid to use Bioparox for children, remembering the inappropriateness of topical application antibiotics .

Dr. Komarovsky in his blog explains this: it is forbidden to bury antibiotics , which are intended for systemic use, contained in Bioparox fusafungin it is not systemic, therefore, it can definitely be used topically, and doctors who prescribe a spray for children in no way violate the pharmacological principles and norms of modern medicine.

Bioparox during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Can Bioparox be used during pregnancy?

The spray contains antibiotic fusafungin , which, when inhaled, is not found in plasma.

The manufacturer in the annotation to the drug to the question of whether it is possible for pregnant women to do inhalations with Bioparox, they answer that during pregnancy the drug can be used, but only with the approval of the attending physician and if there are indications.

In animal studies, no negative effects (direct or indirect) on the course of pregnancy / childbirth, as well as on the development of the child in the prenatal period and during infancy, have been identified. The use of the drug did not contribute to a decrease in fertility in female and male rats.

It should be remembered that taking any medication during pregnancy is associated with certain risks. As for the spray, there are no clinical data that would confirm the safety of its use in pregnant women.

Why is Biparox prescribed during pregnancy?

Due to the extremely low absorption fusafungin the likelihood that the drug will cause fetal developmental disorders is extremely small even if Bioparox is used in early pregnancy.

The spray in this case can do much less harm than an infection, since the most common SARS , suffered by the mother in the first weeks of pregnancy, often leads to miscarriage or the development of defects incompatible with life.

However, if it is necessary to use it in the 1st trimester (especially in the first 8-9 weeks), at the end of treatment it is recommended to check how well the fetus develops.

In the 2nd trimester, colds for a child are not so terrible. By this time, the child has already formed all the vital organs, so the viruses no longer have a fatal effect. However, a cold that is not cured in time can cause fetal hypoxia and damage to the nervous system.

Oxygen starvation can lead to both a slight slowdown in development and cerebral palsy or dangerous underdevelopment of the brain.

In the 3rd trimester, a cold can provoke premature birth. Timely use of Bioparox allows minimizing this risk, and also prevents the risk of hypoxia .

Instructions for use Bioparox will help you learn more about the inhalation drug, which effectively fights inflammation and infectious diseases of the respiratory tract, eliminates nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat. The medicine in a short time helps to get rid of bronchitis and colds, prevents the occurrence of complications, reduces the risk of developing sinusitis, pneumonia.

pharmachologic effect

Bioparox is a non-toxic agent for topical application of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity, which is rapidly absorbed into the mucous membrane. The main advantage is that the components of the drug penetrate into the blood in a small amount, which makes it as harmless to the body as possible.

The main difference between the drug and analogues is that the bacteria are unstable to the active substance of the drug, due to which it effectively destroys staphylococci, pneumococci, streptococci and yeast-like fungi. The elimination of harmful microorganisms occurs gradually - initially, their further reproduction and the release of toxins resulting from the vigorous activity of bacteria are prevented.

The description of the drug states that the best result from the treatment is achieved in the first few days of the development of the disease with an undeveloped form of inflammation.

Instructions for use Bioparox

The drug is used as inhalation through the nose or mouth. Before use, it is necessary to activate the valve by pressing it several times and spraying a small amount of the substance into the air.

Injection is carried out in the nose, which is maximally cleared of secretions. It is important to thoroughly disinfect the nozzles before each procedure. Regardless of age, the duration of Bioparox use should not exceed 7 days, longer use may lead to an imbalance in the microflora.

Instructions for use of Bioparox

In the absence of a positive effect after the recommended course, you should choose another medication.

There are differences in the way the inhaler is used in adults and children, as well as differences in the use of nozzles:

  • yellow - for nasal use;
  • white - for spraying into the mouth;
  • colorless - for nasal use in children.

How to apply to adults

The acceptable dosage for an adult patient is 2 sprays in each nostril 4 times a day. When inhaled through the mouth, 4 doses are administered.

Spray Bioparox into the mouth at least 4 times

To achieve the best effect from the treatment, you should follow the rules for using nozzles, do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of the course.

When infectious diseases of a mixed nature are detected, it is recommended to carry out simultaneous inhalations through the mouth and nose.

Application for children

The scheme of application depends on the age of the child and the state of health:

  1. Children over 2 years old - 2 to 4 doses by oral injection and 1-2 doses by inhalation through the nose. Repeat the procedure 4 times a day at regular intervals.
  2. From the age of 12 years and older - 4 sprays through the mouth and 1 spray for nasal use.

With otitis media, the dosage and the possibility of using Bioparox are agreed with the doctor after examination and confirmation of the diagnosis.

Bioparox is allowed to be used for children

Bioparox during pregnancy and lactation

Clinical studies of the effect of the drug on the body of a pregnant or lactating woman and the fetus have not been conducted. It is possible to use Bioparox during the period of bearing a baby or while breastfeeding only as directed by a doctor.

In the event of negative symptoms or deterioration of the general condition, the use of the medication should be stopped immediately. Ethanol, which is part of the drug, can lead to a deterioration in the mental development of the embryo in the mother's womb.

Contraindications and side effects

The annotation to the drug states that it is well tolerated by the body and rarely leads to side effects.

In case of nausea, severe shortness of breath, lacrimation, burning, allergies, itching or increased dryness of the mucous membrane, it is recommended to coordinate a further appointment with the doctor. Due to aromatic additives, the medicine has a specific taste - this can cause an unpleasant taste in the mouth, nausea and vomiting.

The medication can not be used in several cases:

  1. Dangerous for the health of children under 2 years old - it can cause laryngospasm, and it will be very difficult for the child to inhale or exhale.
  2. When detecting bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
  3. In the presence of individual intolerance to one of the ingredients that make up the product.

Do not use Bioparox in bronchial asthma

Name:

Bioparox (Bioparox)

Pharmacological
action:

Bioparox inhalation drug for local treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract. The composition of the drug includes the active substance - fusafungin - a polypeptide antibiotic isolated from a culture of the fungus Fusarium lateritium. Fusafungin has a bacteriostatic effect against a wide range of microorganisms, including gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi. In addition, the drug has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. The mechanism of the bacteriostatic and fungistatic action of the drug is based on its ability to integrate into the cell membrane of a microorganism, create unregulated ion channels in it and disrupt the work of Na+, K+-ATPase and the ATP-synthetase complex. As a result of such changes, a hole is formed in the cell membrane of the microorganism through which fluid penetrates into the cell. Due to this, the synthesis of ATP inside the cell decreases and the consumption of ATP by the cell increases to remove water that has entered the cytoplasm. As a result, the microorganism does not die, but loses the ability to reproduce, adhere, migrate, and produce exotoxins.
The drug is not characterized by cross-resistance with antibiotics for systemic use.

Strains of such microorganisms are sensitive to the action of the drug:
Gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus group A, B, C, G), Moraxella catarrhalis, Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Bacillus subtilis and some strains of Neisseria spp.
Anaerobic bacteria: Propionibacterium acnes, Clostridium butyricum, Clostridium perfringens and Streptococcus mutans.
In addition, the drug is effective against Mycoplasma spp., actinomycetes and fungi of the genus Candida.
In addition to the bacteriostatic effect, the drug is characterized by an anti-inflammatory effect, the mechanism of which is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Thus, there is a decrease in inflammation and swelling of the airways.
After inhalation Fusafungin is not absorbed into the systemic circulation. The maximum plasma concentration of fusafungin after topical application does not exceed 1 ng / ml, this concentration is not significant and does not affect the safety of the drug. After administration of the drug through the nose, the maximum concentration of fusafungin in mucus reaches 2000 μg / l and is observed within 3 hours after intranasal inhalation. After the introduction of 4 doses of the drug through the mouth, different concentrations of fusafungin are created in the respiratory tract, so its concentration in the mucous membrane of the lungs is about 80 μg / ml, in the mucosa of the trachea and bronchi - 40 μg / ml, in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity - 60 μg / ml .
Excreted from the body with the secret of the respiratory tract.

Indications for
application:

The drug is used for local therapy for acute inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and upper respiratory tract, including infectious etiology. In particular, the drug applies when such diseases:
- acute inflammatory diseases of the ENT organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to the action of fusafungin (rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis), including those caused by fungi of the genus Candida;
- acute inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract caused by microorganisms sensitive to the action of fusafungin (tracheitis, bronchitis);
- in addition, the drug can be used for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases after tonsillectomy.

Mode of application:

The drug is used for inhalation through the mouth or nose.. Before starting the use of the drug, it is necessary to activate the balloon by 4 clicks on its base. In inflammatory diseases of the nasal mucosa (rhinitis, sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis), the drug is administered through the nasal passages. Before the introduction of the drug, it is recommended to clear the nose of mucus. A special nozzle is put on the cylinder with the drug; for the use of the drug in adult patients, a yellow nozzle is used, in children - a transparent one. The balloon is taken vertically with one hand, holding the balloon with the thumb and forefinger, and the nozzle is inserted into the nasal passage, the free nasal passage is closed with the other hand. While inhaling, press the base of the balloon to the stop to inject the drug. Inhalation through the nose is carried out with the mouth closed, taking a deep breath through the nose.
In inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the throat and upper respiratory tract (pharyngitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, tracheitis), as well as after surgical interventions (tonsillectomy), the drug is administered through the mouth. For this, a white nozzle is put on the balloon. The balloon is held vertically, slightly tilted. Lips tightly clamp the nozzle inserted into the mouth. During a deep breath through the mouth until it stops, press the base of the balloon. For better irrigation of the trachea and bronchi, it is recommended to hold your breath after the administration of the drug.

Used nozzles it is recommended to disinfect daily with cotton swabs soaked in 90% ethanol solution.
Doses of the drug and the duration of the course of treatment are determined by the attending physician individually for each patient.
Adults and children over 12 years of age usually prescribed the introduction of 4 doses of the drug through the mouth or the introduction of 2 doses of the drug in each nasal passage 4 times a day. In some diseases, when inflammatory processes affect the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, inhalations are shown both through the nose and through the mouth.
Children over 2.5 years of age usually prescribed the introduction of 2-4 doses of the drug through the mouth or the introduction of 1-2 doses of the drug in each nasal passage 4 times a day.
