What happens if you don’t come to the OGE. What to do if your child does not pass the OGE

Memo for parents

Ninth-graders throughout Russia take the OGE (main state exams). Many parents, meanwhile, do not understand what successful or unsuccessful passing of the OGE can mean for a student. We found out the answer to this question.

OGE grades serve as a kind of pass to 10th grade. Ninth-graders must pass four subjects: two compulsory (Russian language and mathematics) and two elective subjects. (The most popular subjects in 2018 were social studies, chosen by 63% of participants, geography - 33%, biology - 30% and computer science - 28%).

As for the mandatory OGE in foreign languages, we remind you that it will be introduced only in 2020.

The initial results of OGE-9 are assessed in primary points, which are then translated into the usual five-point scale. The points are used to calculate the final grade in the certificate of basic general education for ninth grade graduates as the arithmetic average between the annual mark and the result of the General Examination in the subject.

“D” grades for the OGE can be retaken both on specially provided reserve days during the summer campaign and on additional dates in September. At the same time, if previously ninth-graders who received at least one bad mark had to retake all the OGE exams, then from this year they will only have to retake the one for which this “f” was received.

If it was not possible to retake the “D” on the OGE either in the summer or in September, the loser, by decision of the parents, may be retained in the 9th grade for the second year. Or, as an alternative, he leaves school with a certificate, and receives a certificate for 9 classes, for example, after studying for some time in college, where he will be accepted with this certificate.

In case of successful retake, a nine-year certificate will be given. But when entering the 10th grade, problems may arise in this case. Moreover, not only among D students, even if they have improved, but also among C students. Especially if the school where they study is considered strong or specialized.

According to the current rules, the decision on the rules for recruiting tenth graders is largely left to the schools and is regulated not by laws common to all, but by internal documents of the school - the so-called local acts. For example, the school charter. And if it is written there that only graduates of the 9th grade who have, say, annual grades or OGE results of at least “B”s, get into the 10th grade, then the school has every legal basis to do just that. Therefore, before appealing the actions of the school administration, you should carefully read these documents.

The school's greater rights when enrolling in the 10th grade leave it significant freedom of hand when making decisions. So a lot depends on the general opinion of the student. For example, an excellent student or just a good student who, out of fright, failed one of the General Examinations, may still be accepted after a retake. But there is no inveterate C student, even if he passed all the exams without “Fs”. Then, for those who will not be accepted into the 10th grade, two paths open: either to a simpler school (which is quite realistic) or to college. That is, in the system of secondary vocational education - to master blue-collar professions.

However, you can, of course, complain about the decision of the school administration. To begin with, to the regional Ministry of Education, and then to the federal department, now renamed the Ministry of Education. But let’s hope that none of those who decide to continue their studies in the 10th grade will have to do this.

HELP "MK". In total, 1.3 million 9th grade graduates will take the OGE in 2018. The main exam period began on May 25 and will last until June 29.

In accordance with the Federal Law “On Education in the Russian Federation,” 9th grade students undergo state final certification (GIA-9) without fail. GIA-9 is carried out:

- in the form of the OGE - the main state exam using standardized control measuring materials (CMM);

- in the form of the GVE - state final exam in the form of written and oral exams using texts, topics, assignments, tickets.

The main form of GIA-9 is OGE. The GVE is taken by students with disabilities, children with disabilities, students studying in boarding schools and foreign schools, and minors in prison.

Ninth-graders must submit applications for participation in GIA-9 until March 1 inclusive at your school. In it, they must indicate the academic subjects chosen for passing and the form of final certification - OGE or GVE.

How many subjects do ninth graders take in 2017?

In 2017, 9th grade graduates take two compulsory subjects - Russian language and mathematics and two elective subjects. For students with disabilities, students with disabilities and people with disabilities who have completed educational programs of basic general education, the number of exams taken is reduced at their request. up to two compulsory ones - in Russian language and mathematics.

Results obtained at GIA-9 in all 4 subjects, will affect the final grade included in the certificate of basic general education, as well as the receipt of a certificate. Final grades for 9th grade in the Russian language, mathematics and two academic subjects taken at the student’s choice are determined as arithmetic average of annual and examination marks graduate and are included in the certificate in whole numbers in accordance with the rules of mathematical rounding.

GIA-9 in the regions is organized by the executive body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation that carries out public administration in the field of education.

Who is allowed to take State Examination 9

Students who do not have academic debt and have fully completed the curriculum or individual curriculum are admitted to GIA-9, i.e. having annual grades in all academic subjects of the curriculum for class IX not less than satisfactory.

Students who have completed the educational program of basic general education in form of family education, has the right to pass the State Examination as an external student. They are admitted to the State Examination Examination on condition that they receive marks not less than satisfactory at intermediate certification.

Students who are in the current academic year winners or prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, members of national teams of the Russian Federation that participated in international Olympiads and were formed in the prescribed manner, are released from passing the state final certification in an academic subject corresponding to the profile of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, the international Olympiad.

And if the graduate did not pass the GIA-9

GIA-9 results are recognized satisfactory in the event that a student in the subjects taken scored the minimum number of points, determined by the executive body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation exercising public administration in the field of education. If a graduate is not satisfied with the results of GIA-9, he can file an appeal.

In the event that students receive unsatisfactory results at the GIA-9 in no more than two academic subjects(from among compulsory and elective subjects), they again are allowed to take the GIA-9 in the relevant academic subjects in the current year in additional deadlines.

Students who did not pass the GIA-9 or received unsatisfactory results at the GIA-9 in more than two academic subjects, or who received a repeated unsatisfactory result one by one from these items to GIA-9 in additional terms, granted the right pass exams in relevant academic subjects, but no earlier than September 1, 2017.

If a ninth grader was not admitted to the State Examination Test or did not pass the State Examination Test again

Receiving general education is compulsory before the citizen reaches age 18 years.

9th grade students did not complete the curriculum in full(with academic debt), as well as graduates, those who did not pass GIA-9, at the discretion of parents (legal representatives) may remain on repeat schooling or switch to education in the form of family education. Upon leaving school, they receive a certificate of study in an educational organization of the established form. Such persons can pass the State Examination in a year.

Conditional transfer does not apply to ninth graders due to the provision of paragraph 5 of Article 66 of the Law on Education that students who have not mastered the basic educational program of primary general and (or) basic general education are not allowed to study at the following levels of general education

For information

The right to education in the Russian Federation is an inalienable constitutional right of citizens. In accordance with Art. 63 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation, clause 1, part 4, art. 44 Federal Law No. 273-FZ Parents are obliged to ensure that their children receive a general education.

In accordance with Art. 65 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation, parents who exercise parental rights to the detriment of the rights and interests of children are liable in the manner prescribed by law. Current legislation provides for family law, administrative and even criminal liability of parents in case of infringement of the rights and legitimate interests of children.

What to do if a student has problems with GIA-9: 20 comments

    A 9th grade graduate re-passed the State Examination Test with a “2”. He is given the opportunity to retake it in September. What is the student’s status during the summer period (before the third retake attempt in September)? What are the rights of parents (possible options)? Should the child be issued a certificate or is he considered retained for further education or something else? How to act correctly?

    In continuation to the last letter. The student did not retake the 9th grade OGE exam in September; he is already 18 years old. THOSE. We now need to issue him a certificate of... , and if he still wants to pass this exam, he will write an application in February and retake it in 2018. Is that so?

    Good afternoon A 9th grade graduate received an unsatisfactory result in September
    deadlines. What should an educational organization do? Will he leave with a certificate or will he continue his studies in 9th grade? In what form?

    Good afternoon A 9th grade student has not mastered the curriculum in any way and has grades below satisfactory in all subjects. Behavior is good, but there are developmental problems (health: stuttering, failure to pronounce sounds, skin diseases, which causes severe shyness). Is it possible for this student to take exams within the school. To at least get a certificate of training. Maybe for this you need to get certificates from medical institutions? Thanks in advance for your answer!

    Hello, I studied at boarding school 4 in Volgograd for 17 years. Can I get a Certificate? Or where to go to take exams and get a Certificate? Speech is not much impaired, but it is clear and everyone understands my speech)

Final exams in the ninth grade are an important event for every student. The tasks become more complicated every year, and sometimes even good students show low results on the OGE. What remains for the children who did not cope with the exam task and cannot continue their studies? Let's say right away: there is no need to be discouraged. As you know, ninth-graders take exams in two compulsory subjects (mathematics and Russian) and two elective disciplines. Elective subjects are not retaken, and scores on them do not affect the grades on the certificate. For example, if a student received a “3” in history during the year, and a “2” in the exam, the document on education will contain a “C”. But alas, with compulsory subjects everything is not so simple...

A failed exam has a chance to retake in June and September

Options for retaking exams

If you have an unsatisfactory result in one exam in a compulsory subject, the discipline can be retaken in the summer. The first retake takes place in June. For this purpose, all the children who have not passed a certain exam are collected in one school. If a student fails to complete the assignments a second time or fails both compulsory subjects, he will have to retake the test in September.

If the student gets a bad grade again, there are two options left. He can take the 9th grade course again or spend a year at home and take the OGE next spring. Instead of a certificate, such a graduate receives a certificate of study at a general education institution. Unfortunately, it does not provide an opportunity to go to college or technical school.

Right to appeal

There are other options. If a student does not agree with the assessment or believes that the exam procedure was violated, he can appeal. The application is submitted to the conflict commission or to the educational organization in which the student was admitted to the exam. The appeal must be filed within two working days after receiving the results of the OGE.

The student has the right to appeal the exam results

To resolve disputes, the commission attracts subject matter experts who review the students’ work. If an error was made when calculating the score, the score is corrected to a higher one. The commission does not consider complaints about the content of assignments or cases where a low grade was received due to incorrect formatting of the work.

It also happens that a student misses an exam due to health problems. In this case, he must submit the appropriate certificate from the doctor and an application for retake to the educational organization at the place of study.

The most unpleasant thing is if the child did not pass the OGE due to removal from the exam for cheating, using additional unauthorized literature, talking with someone present or on the phone. Explain to your beloved child that during the exam you should not tempt fate with such rash actions, and strictly adhere to the rules for passing the OGE established for all examinees.

But most often the reasons for an unsatisfactory result are different: gaps in knowledge, complete confusion.

If you fail to pass no more than two exams, you can try again on the next approved day for retaking. Reserve days are usually scheduled for the last days of June. In such a situation, it is important to immediately find out the exact date and not confuse the appointed day due to nervous fuss and stress.

And prepare as well as possible - as much as your dedication, abilities and time allow. Parents and children need to mobilize all their strength and try to achieve success on the nearest possible date of delivery. There is little time for intensive preparation. So act quickly. Tears, moaning, hysterics will not help here.

Find out what is causing the failure. Confused? Out of fear, your mind completely turned off and you couldn’t even understand the meaning of the tasks, although you saw that they were simple and could be completed quickly?

Or have some proven to be a difficult nut to crack? Then you need to try to remember which tasks became such and solve similar ones many times, taking them, for example, from the OGE task bank.

Don’t leave preparation to chance, don’t hope that the child will figure everything out on his own according to the textbook. To be sure, hire reliable, proven tutors, take courses where they can provide individual assistance in your studies.

What if the first retake was unsuccessful and you couldn’t score the required minimum points? Then get ready to retake it in September. And although in this case there will be more time for preparation, you should not relax: the exam results indicate large gaps in your existing knowledge, skills, and abilities.

What to do if, when taking the OGE, the results in three, or even all four subjects turned out to be unsatisfactory? Study persistently, decide, and in September decisively and responsibly take on the retake.

Despite all these opportunities for passing and retaking, the question arises: if a child decides to study further, take the exams, but why does a schoolchild who did not want and does not want to study need four passed subjects? If the teachers barely made it to the end of the ninth grade, dreaming of quickly letting him out and tightly closing the school doors behind him with a few locks so that he would not return? What should they do with him, who failed the second or third time? Leave it for the second year? Is it useless to make you take final exams ten times? Where and why do they graduate an uncertified student after the ninth grade? Or are teachers so indifferent that they are indifferent to the fate of such graduates? Let him retake it in September. Fantastic! What will he hand over? Where will knowledge come from?

And what should a student do after the third, fourth failure? Where to go? Things to do? And what will he pass if for him the tasks are like Chinese literacy - he doesn’t even understand the meaning of words and terms, let alone the execution algorithm? Or is there a version that if you haven’t studied, for example, Chinese, but you go through the exam procedure many times, you will know it?

But many of these unfortunate people could become excellent plumbers, drivers, electricians, auto mechanics, welders, etc. Give them the opportunity to learn a profession.

It seems that for some reason this is necessary, numerous incomprehensible retakes. It’s just that parents and their children do not understand the great purpose of those who conceived such a colossal experiment. Maybe we need eternal ninth graders? Some of them, perhaps at the age of ninety, will still pass the exam and will be solemnly awarded a certificate of completion of the 9th grade. Until then, who will support them and their families? Wait, there is an option: to assign them educational pensions - after all, they need to live on something. And let them receive it until they achieve a certificate and can learn a profession.

Maybe they want to show with these exams how many stupid children there are in school? So the school cannot find an approach to each student, and the education system does not take into account that each child has his own, individual path in life. Someone goes to the opportunity to find their calling, their place in life through a vocational school, technical school, and others - a university. And what from this? Everyone has their own destiny.

In general, education at school, in the words of Alice, the heroine of Lewis Carroll’s work, is becoming more and more “wonderful” and “wonderful.” And the exams are becoming more and more intricate and “curzier”.

To obtain a certificate of basic general education, graduates take two compulsory subjects (Russian language and mathematics) and two elective subjects.

Elective subjects are not retaken, and scores on them do not affect the grades on the certificate.

If a graduate received an unsatisfactory result in one or two of the subjects taken at GIA-9, then he can retake these exams on reserve days (summer period)

If a graduate did not pass the GIA-9, or received unsatisfactory results in more than two academic subjects, or received a repeated unsatisfactory result in one of these subjects when retaking it on a reserve day, then he can take the GIA-9 again in the relevant academic subjects on an additional deadlines in September.

If the student gets a bad grade again, there are two options left.

Didn't pass the OGE

He can take the 9th grade course again or spend a year at home and take the OGE next spring. Instead of a certificate, such a graduate receives a certificate of study at a general education institution. It does not provide an opportunity to enter a technical school or college.

Appeal

To ensure the right of the GIA-9 participant to objectively conduct the exam and evaluate its results, there is an appeal procedure.

GIA-9 participants can file an appeal:
about violation of the established procedure for conducting GIA-9 in an academic subject;

About disagreement with the assigned points.

Appeals are not accepted:

On the content and structure of KIM in academic subjects;

On issues related to the participant’s violation of the procedure for conducting GIA-9;

For questions related to incorrect formatting of the examination paper;

For questions related to evaluating the results of short-answer tasks.

Conflict commissions are created in each region to consider appeals. When considering the appeal, instead of the GIA-9 participant or together with him, his parents (legal representatives) may be present, who must have their passports with them. Legal representatives (guardians, adoptive parents, trustees, as well as persons caring for an adult capable person who, for health reasons, cannot exercise his rights) must also have other documents confirming their powers.

Also, members of the State Examination Committee, officials of Rosobrnadzor and regional supervisory authorities in the field of education may be present at the appeal.

What to do if a child does not pass the OGE?

If in the ninth grade your child suffered a complete fiasco, did not pass the GIA or was not allowed to take the exam, this does not mean that all doors are closed in front of him. Instead of a certificate, they give a certificate. Let's figure out together what to do with it and where to go to study next.

Shall we try again?

According to the law, children who have completed the 9th grade with a certificate of the established form can try to pass the GIA again in a year as an external student. In this case, subjects for which unsatisfactory scores were obtained must be taken.

If desired, your daughter or son can stay for re-education and take the GIA along with new classmates next year.

What to do if you didn’t pass the OGE in 9th grade?

As a rule, this applies to those who were not admitted to certification.

Where to go with help?

Until 2015, in order to undergo training in various vocational training programs, mainly blue-collar workers, a school certificate was a prerequisite. Now you can enroll in a secondary specialized educational institution with a certificate.

What will your daughter or son become?

The list of working specialties and positions of employees is not limited to the janitor, plumber and turner, with which they love to scare teenagers. In fact, there are many more professions:

  • educator;
  • private security guard;
  • cook;
  • driver;
  • seamstress;
  • driver;
  • flight attendant;
  • dog handler;
  • hairdresser;
  • electrician, etc.

If your son or daughter succeeds in their profession, they can earn very good money. Here, as elsewhere, the main thing is effort and desire.

You can find out which colleges accept students with an 8th grade education in your area from your local department of public education. In most cases, training is provided on a paid basis.

Why should you go to college?

Admit it, after thinking: “What a horror! You didn’t pass/didn’t pass the State Exam!” the next one was: “He’ll lose a whole year, what should I do?!” Idleness has a destructive effect even on an adult, let alone a teenager who is not averse to neglecting his studies. In this situation, primary and secondary vocational education is a good option.

  • First of all, the child will be busy with work, and will not sit for days at the computer or hang out in an unknown place.
  • College education for children with a certificate lasts up to 6-8 months. They study specialized disciplines and gain practical skills in production. Classes usually start in October. It will be a year before the retake. During this time, your child will receive a profession and an appropriate rank.
  • If your son or daughter successfully passes the State Examination, they will be able to continue studying for free in any specialty. An honors college diploma provides certain advantages when entering a specialized university. In addition, many colleges and universities participate in the college-university program; their graduates can immediately enroll in the 2nd or 3rd year of a specialized university.

As you can see, college offers good prospects. If your son or daughter gets ready to study right away, they will be successful in the future.

How to prepare for retaking the State Examination Test?

Without passing the final state certification, your son or daughter can get a profession, increase their rank, but their level of education will remain the same. Employers always pay attention to this column in the work book. Therefore, you will still have to take the State Examination Test. We have already written about the rules and deadlines for retaking the State Examination Test.

  • A professional tutor will prepare your son or daughter, but the lessons are very expensive and may be disrupted due to his illness or other urgent circumstances. After all, he is also a person.
  • Many colleges offer preparatory courses. They are slightly cheaper than courses in educational centers, but are not always effective, since there are always large groups there. Classes are taught by the same college teachers.
  • In educational centers, classes are never canceled. Groups consist of 5-6 people. Teachers are often certified State Examination and Unified State Examination experts and are focused on high results.

There are no hopeless situations. If your child received a certificate instead of a certificate, do not rush to blame only him for everything. You are involved in this too, admit it. In some places they were not forced to sit down for lessons on time, in others they were allowed to miss a day. Instead of looking for someone to blame, make the best of the situation. Focus on getting into college and preparing to retake the GIA.

All ninth-graders are required to pass the GIA at the end of the school year. Although KIM tasks are compiled taking into account the amount of knowledge acquired within the framework of general education school programs, it also happens that students cannot answer most of the questions and receive unsatisfactory grades. But failure in the exam is not a death sentence: as part of the final certification, a retake of the OGE is provided.

Who can retake GIA-9

The categories of those who are allowed to retake a failed OGE exam of their choice or in basic academic subjects are regulated by paragraph 30 of the procedure for conducting GIA 9 (Order of the Ministry of Education No. 1394).

This year, students are allowed to retake:

  • those who received a bad grade in no more than two academic disciplines;
  • those who did not appear for the exam or did not complete the work for a valid reason (due to illness, due to a sharp deterioration in health in the PPE and due to other circumstances confirmed by documents);
  • those who filed an appeal about a violation of the procedure for conducting state inspection and received a positive decision from the State Examination Committee;
  • whose results were canceled by the conflict commission when facts of violations of the OGE procedure were revealed by persons responsible for organizing the State Examination and who were present at the PPE (examination point).

Next year, the OGE will be retaken by those who received more than two unsatisfactory grades at the GIA and were unable to correct them within the additional time allotted.

How many times can you retake the OGE?

If we discard the complex and rather vague official formulations about the permissible number of retakes, then in fact, in order to correct a bad mark received at the State Examination Examination, two attempts are given during the examination period of the current academic year (the first - on reserve days, the second - in September).

More specifically, the number of retakes is stated in paragraph 61 of Order No. 1394 of the Ministry of Education and Science (last edition dated 17.

The child did not pass the OGE: what to do

The innovations made life easier for ninth-graders: in the version of the document that was in effect until February 16, 2017, only one subject was allowed to be retaken in the summer.

Retake period

The GIA schedule 9 for retaking exams provides for additional certification deadlines:

  • reserve days (at the early stage - in May, at the main stage - in June);
  • September period.

One separate reserve day is allocated for retaking mathematics, Russian and foreign languages. The remaining items are handed over several times in one day, for example, like this:

Schoolchildren can retake the OGE on reserve days:

  • for good reasons, did not take part in the exam, which was held according to the main schedule;
  • those who filed an appeal and received a positive response to it;
  • whose results were canceled due to violations of the procedure for conducting the State Examination by the certification organizers;
  • received a bad mark in one or two of the subjects.

In September, the OGE will be retaken by those who:

  • received one or two failures, but decided not to rush into retaking the test, but decided to carefully prepare for it within two months;
  • due to health reasons and other valid reasons, he was unable to take advantage of the second chance in June;
  • I failed the retake test on reserve days in the summer.

Next year, ninth grade graduates are allowed to take the GIA:

  • those who received a bad mark on the retake in September;
  • who failed three or four exams.

After successfully retaking the OGE in September, if there are free places in the educational organization, the graduate can continue his studies in the 10th grade or enter a college if the administration of the institution agrees to enroll him after the start of the school year.

If it was not possible to pass the GIA, then the student, by the decision of his parents or legal representatives, can:

  • stay for further training;
  • switch to adaptive programs;
  • receive a certificate of the established form instead of a certificate.

With the certificate, you can study at home on your own and retake the OGE next year. As an option: continue your studies at a college or technical school (most likely, they will offer a paid form) and get a working profession.
