Accessible environment at sports facilities. Inventory and material equipment of halls for the disabled Complex of equipment for people with disabilities

Sports complexes, stadiums and any other objects of public importance should be accessible to everyone. Categories of sports facilities are included in the Accessible Environment program - and this obliges the management of such facilities to adapt the infrastructure of the building and territory for the disabled and people with disabilities. This means that the management of such institutions needs to remove all barriers and provide access for people with visual impairments, hearing impairments, as well as people who have difficulty in moving or are confined to a wheelchair.

Territory adaptation: where to start?

The task of organizing an accessible environment inside the building and on the territory adjacent to it can be a lot of complex nuances. Instructions and standards that could help in solving this problem are not provided by the Accessible Environment program. In conditions where there is no “to action” guide, and the building has its own technical features that must be taken into account when adapting, the management of the institution has to develop an action plan on its own. To make it easier to understand all the intricacies, we have prepared a few recommendations for you.

First of all, when developing a list of equipment for adaptation, it is important to take into account all the obstacles and barriers that a visitor may encounter. The needs of people with hearing and visual impairments, as well as wheelchair users are taken into account.

An indicative list of equipment for adaptation, which is required in most cases for sports facilities under the Accessible Environment program, includes:

  • lifting platforms for the disabled (for moving up stairs and overcoming height differences);
  • safety railings and ramps with a special non-slip coating;
  • tactile tiles and navigation system (plates, mnemonic diagrams, etc.);
  • equipment for the accessibility of bathrooms (handrails, adaptation of passages);
  • special parking places for the disabled;
  • call buttons in places where operator assistance may be required.

If you have to implement measures to adapt a public sports facility, you can confidently rely on the above list of facility equipment.

Adaptation of sports facilities: what to look for?

Comprehensive measures for the adaptation of objects are not only the removal of barriers and obstacles. It is important to pay special attention to issues of comfort and safety. We recommend working out a few important nuances:

  • areas for spectators. People with a visual impairment can move around the territory with a guide dog. There should be a special dog walking area for her.
  • stands. In addition to the audio broadcast of information for viewers, displays with text messages should also be placed;
  • for orientation of people with complete loss of vision and the visually impaired. Tactile stripes will help people navigate more easily and feel more confident. In addition to tactile systems, strong handrails must be installed;
  • pools and baths. For disabled people with damage to the musculoskeletal system, a gentle staircase should be installed in the shallow part of the pool bath. For wheelchair users, a special pool lift is required. The edges of the pool bath along the entire perimeter should be highlighted with a contrasting stripe;
  • halls for the blind. Handrails, fasteners of equipment, regulators, electrical switches and other elements must be buried or installed flush with the surface of the walls;
  • aisles. Doorways must be at least 1.2m wide for free access for athletes in wheelchairs.

When periodically using sports halls and rooms for the disabled in the designed buildings, in addition to taking into account the provisions on accessibility, one should take into account the size of specialized areas for the disabled, located in halls of standard sizes.

In addition to the standard set of equipment and inventory in the halls, additional equipment for disabled people should be taken into account. When arranging equipment and simulators, safety zones and entrances for wheelchair users should be taken into account.

The dimensions of the playgrounds and rooms for entertaining games and training on simulators do not require particularly strict parameters, given that the rules of the games are simple and easily replaceable.

The hall of 24x12 m in size for physical culture and health-improving classes for people with disabilities with lesions of the musculoskeletal system, gyms of 9x18 m, as well as the proposed halls of 9x15 and 6x9 m for general strengthening exercises without the use of sports equipment and simulator zones, it is advisable to divide into two zones: for strengthening exercises without use of sports equipment and exercise equipment area.

The arrangement of equipment should provide the possibility for a disabled person to travel in a wheelchair to all areas of the hall. Along the walls of the hall, in areas free from equipment, a handrail is provided for the convenience of movement of disabled people using walking aids.

Hall equipment includes:

bench with racks for bench press,

barbell squat racks,

simulator for rotation and development of agility,

running machine,

simulator "wall of health",

simulator for the development of the shoulder girdle and pectoral muscles,

simulator for the development of back and abdominal muscles,

exercise bike, bicycle ergometer and "universal bench" simulator,

carpet for gymnastic exercises on the floor,

gymnastic benches and wall,

parallel bars for learning to walk.

For self-control of the disabled, mirrors with handrails are provided on both sides of the hall. The optimal size of the hall for sports games for disabled people in wheelchairs is 36x18 m. In such a universal hall, training and planning classes and competitions in wheelchair basketball, handball over the net, quadrugby, wheelchair figure riding, sitting volleyball, football and tennis can be held. To do this, the hall must be equipped with special stationary and transformable equipment. For entertaining games in the hall, additional portable equipment can be provided: an inclined trampoline, targets for throwing rings, a basketball hoop on a stand. The hall for sports games for the disabled has a size of 30 x 18 m, taking into account the safety zones and the information tactile track around the largest playground. Training and competitions in rollerball, goalball, torball can be held in the hall. The equipment includes goalposts and nets with a fixed upper crossbar, orientation mats, sounded balls, stands for stretching cords with bells. In addition, classes for disabled amputees (sitting volleyball) are possible in the hall. The floor surface must be level and smooth.

When designing halls and premises for non-traditional types of sports games for disabled people, the parameters and conditions for conducting classes should be taken into account. For people with visual impairments (VD), the main task is to teach coordination of movements and orientation in space. They are guided mainly by means of acoustic means, tactile and intense color marking. Therefore, sports grounds should have a convex or concave surface, brightly colored floor markings, corresponding to the types of games.

In sports halls designed for the blind, the floor surface must be perfectly smooth. In table tennis halls, free zones of at least 9x4.5 m for each table should be provided and tables of standard sizes should be used. When placing more than one table in the hall, light portable barriers should be installed between them to prevent the ball from rolling out of the playing area.

For the game of showdown (one of the few sports games that the blind can play without outside help), a special table measuring 4.16x1.27 m is used. The game (1 m wide) and safety zones (2 m wide) are provided around the table. . In the hall intended for playing showdown, it is advisable to install only one table.

The acoustic characteristics of the room are of paramount importance: maximum sound insulation from external noise should be provided and special sound-absorbing lining of the walls and ceiling of the room should be provided. All this is due to the fact that during the game, players are guided by the sound of the moving player.

In the hall measuring 9x15 m for special physical training of the disabled, the development of individual joints, the "pumping" of certain muscle groups is carried out. For this, special simulators are installed in the hall. The working zones of the simulators are expanded in comparison with the common facilities. In addition, the hall has a special information track for the visually impaired.

The hall for artistic gymnastics must be adapted for the types of sports that athletes with visual impairments are engaged in. For men, these are 6 types: acrobatics, horse (mahi), rings, vault, bars, crossbar; women have 4 types - acrobatics, vault, bars, beam. One type of program - the vault - requires increased visual control, so the height of the projectile is reduced compared to the usual rules.

The composition of the training group for the blind should be halved compared to healthy athletes, the number of projectiles in the training hall should be reduced. Around the projectiles it is necessary to provide tactile orientation strips (safety zones).

It is expedient to conduct gymnastics classes for visually impaired people in a hall of non-standard size - 36x24 m.

The set of sports equipment is minimal (one for each type) in accordance with the composition of the group and the types of all-around.

For sports games for people with disabilities with lesions of the musculoskeletal system (POMA) in the hall measuring 36x18 m, it is possible to conduct training sessions, competitions, as well as recreational games.

The following equipment is used:

hanging basketball backboards,

wall-mounted basketball backboards of variable height (for hitting),

racks for attaching a volleyball net,

inclined trampoline for basketball and handball,

target with glasses

basketball hoop on a stand.

Additional equipment is provided, as well as the installation of a gymnastic wall buried in a niche. For the visually impaired, the optimal dimensions of the sports hall are 30x18 m, taking into account the safety zones and the information tactile track around the largest playing area. Training and competitions in rollerball, goalball, torball can be held in the hall.

The equipment includes goalposts and nets with a fixed upper crossbar, orientation mats, sounded balls, stands for stretching cords with bells.

Equipment

Disassembled simulators are a complete set of all parts, fasteners, as well as accompanying documents. Packaging of all components ensures their protection from damage during transportation and storage. The details of the simulators come in a state ready for assembly and do not require additional operations (drilling holes, welding plugs, etc.)

Passport products

Each simulator is accompanied by a manufacturer's passport. It provides basic information about the product, its operating conditions, installation diagram, and also indicates the warranty period.

All simulators have been tested for quality and safety, which is confirmed by a certificate that is included in the package of accompanying documents for the equipment. A quality certificate is mandatory for participation in tenders, execution of government contracts.

Assembly and installation instructions

Each complex is accompanied by a diagram for installation and step-by-step instructions. The drawing shows the exact dimensions of the simulator, which will allow you to plan its location on the site and make markings. The instructions describe in detail your actions during the installation of the complex, as well as the sequence of their implementation. This will allow you to independently install the equipment
