Student and Master. What does it mean to be a student? Osho. osho cult

Who can be ready to learn? Only one who is ready to cast aside all his prejudices. And go into the unknown...

Question: Beloved Master, what does it mean to be a disciple?

Osho: Prem Samadhi, this is one of the most difficult riddles. There is no definition for the word "disciple", but I can give you a few hints. Hand pointing to the moon. Don't look at the hand - look at the moon and forget about the hand.

The student is rare. It is easy to be a student because the student is looking for knowledge. The student can only meet the teacher, he can never meet the master. The true essence of the master will remain hidden from the student. The student acts from the head. He acts logically and rationally. He collects knowledge. He becomes more and more knowledgeable. And finally, in turn, he becomes a teacher, but everything he knows has been borrowed, his knowledge is not his knowledge.

His existence is a pseudo existence made to look like a blueprint. He does not know his true face. He knows about God, but he does not know God within himself. He knows about love, but he never dared to love himself. He knows about poetry, but he has not tasted the power of poetry itself. He can talk about beauty, he can write treatises on beauty, but he has no vision, no experience, no connection with beauty in his life. He never danced with a rose. Dawn for him happens outside, nothing happens in his heart. Inside it is the same darkness as before.

He only talks about concepts, he does not know the truth - because the truth cannot be comprehended through words, scriptures. The student is only interested in words, scriptures, theories, methods of thinking, philosophy, ideologies.

The student is a completely different thing. A student is not a student; he is not interested in knowledge about God, love, truth - he is interested in becoming God, truth, love. Remember this difference. Knowing is one thing, becoming is quite another. The student does not take risks; the student goes into the unknown. The student is stingy, he is a hoarder; only then can he gather knowledge. He is greedy; he collects knowledge as a greedy person accumulates wealth. Knowledge is his wealth. The student is not interested in the accumulation of knowledge; he wants to feel, he wants to taste, and for this he is willing to take risks.

The student will be able to find the master. The relationship between a student and a teacher is built in the head, the relationship between a student and a master is built in the heart - this is love relationship, the world perceives it as some kind of madness. In fact, there is no more total love than between master and disciple. The love between John and Jesus, between Sariputta and Buddha, between Gautama and Mahavir, Arjun and Krishna, Chuang Tzu and Lao Tzu is true love, the highest manifestation of love.

The disciple begins to dissolve into the master. The disciple destroys the distance between himself and the master; the student stops resisting, the student capitulates, the student disappears. He becomes nobody, he becomes nothing. And then the heart opens. In this absence, the ego disappears and the master can penetrate into its essence.

The student becomes accepting, vulnerable, insecure; he discards all his weapons. It discards all defense mechanisms. He is ready to die. If the master says, "Die!", he does not wait for a single moment. The Master is his soul, his very essence; his devotion is unconditional and absolute. And to know absolute devotion is to know God. To know absolute surrender is to know the most hidden secret life.

The word "disciple" (English "disciple") is very beautiful - it means "one who is ready to learn." This is where the word “discipline” comes from – discipline means “create space for learning”. "Student" means to be ready to learn. Who can be ready to learn? Only one who is ready to cast aside all his prejudices. If you come as a Christian, or as a Hindu, or as a Muslim, you cannot be a student. If you come as a simple man, without prejudice, without faith, then you can become a disciple.

The Apprentice is a very rare bloom human consciousness, because there is only one step up ahead - the master. And one who becomes a disciple totally will one day become a master. Apprenticeship is the process of becoming a master. Nobody needs to start with the desire to become a master; otherwise, he will lose everything, because this desire is a trap of the ego. You just need to disappear.

You have already lived with the ego, and your life is suffering and nothing more. Maybe enough already! One day the understanding will come that: “I have missed this opportunity by constantly listening to my ego. It took me down paths that lead nowhere now, which makes me constantly suffer.” The day you understand that "The ego is the root cause of all my suffering," you can start looking for a place to get rid of the ego. The master is the one who will help you drop your ego.

You can drop the ego only if you meet a person who has such a strong grip on your heart that his essence becomes more important than yours, that you can sacrifice everything you have for him.

A few days ago I received a letter from Gunakar in Germany. In the German newspapers, Tierta's words made a big impression and they were criticized - it can be criticized, it can be manipulated, because what happened in Jonestown became the talk of the town. Someone, a journalist from Germany, asked Tiera: "If the master asks you to shoot yourself, to kill yourself, will you do it?" And Tiera replied: “There is nothing to think about. I'll kill myself right now."

Now this statement can be used in such a way that the place I create can be another Jonestown. Tiera's words came from the heart; he was not a politician or a diplomat; otherwise, he would not have uttered such words. He simply said what the student had to say.

The student is ready. In fact, the phrase “the student is ready to die” is not entirely correct. The disciple is ready to die in the master; and it's not something that will happen in the future, it's something that has already happened. It happened on the day the disciple accepted the master as his master: from then on he is no more, only the master lives in him.

Gradually, the presence of the master overwhelms the disciple. And the presence of the master is not really the presence of the master himself: the master is overflowing with God. The Master is only a means, a path, a messenger; God himself flows through the master. When the disciple surrenders totally to the master, he is actually surrendering to God in the master. He cannot yet see God, but the master can, and in the master he can see something divine. The Master becomes for him the first proof of God. When you surrender to the master, you surrender to the visible God.

And gradually, accepting his master more and more, the visible God disappears into the invisible. The master disappears. When the disciple reaches the very depths of the master's heart, he will not find the master there, only God himself, life itself - it cannot be expressed in words.

Prem Samadhi, your question is important. You asked, "What does it mean to be a disciple?"
It means death and it means resurrection. It means to die in the master and be born again with the help of the master.

It is easy to be a student because the student is looking for knowledge. The student can only meet the teacher, he can never meet the Master. Remember this difference. Know is one thing become- it's completely different.

The student does not take risks; the student goes into the unknown.
The student is stingy, he is greedy; he collects knowledge as a greedy person accumulates wealth. Knowledge is his wealth.
The student is not interested in the accumulation of knowledge; he wants to feel, he wants to taste, and for this he is willing to take risks.

Word " student " (eng. " disciple ”) is very beautiful – it means “ one who is ready to learn ". Hence the word " discipline "(English -" discipline ") - discipline means " create space for learning ". "Student" means to be ready to learn.

First question:

How is it possible that an enlightened person like Krishnamurti cannot see that he is not helping people? Even if the enlightened one cannot see everything? And you say that you can help all kinds of people, but you also say that you are contradictory in order to get some people to leave. If you can help everyone, why should they leave?

A man like Krishnamurti can see. There are no hindrances or obstacles, and he sees everything that happens around him. But an enlightened person cannot do anything. It should be as it is, simple and natural. Action brings tension and makes you unnatural. Then you swim against the current.

Krishnamurti knows what is happening, but he cannot do anything. He must let it happen. Such is the will of the universal. Nothing can be done about it. The doer is always ignorant. When you are awakened, you do not find the doer in you. When you are awakened, you accept everything that is.

So don't think that Krishnamurti does not know. He knows very well that this is how things happen. That's exactly what happens. But there is no one inside who could judge exactly how it should have happened. Nothing canbe done. A rose flower is a rose flower and a mango tree is a mango tree. A rose cannot bloom on a mango tree, and mangoes cannot grow on a rose bush. Everything is what it is - total acceptance.

And when I say total acceptance, I'm just doing it to explain to you. Otherwise, in an enlightened consciousness there is no acceptance, because there is no rejection. That's why I call it total. This is complete surrender to the supreme. Everything is fine. Whether I can help you or not is not for me to decide. Decides the whole and the whole uses me. It depends on him. If it's good that people don't need to be helped, then the whole won't let me help people, but I'm not in it. This is the state of enlightenment. You cannot understand this because you have always thought in terms of the doer. An enlightened person does not really exist; he is not here. It is a vast emptiness, therefore whatever happens, happens; whatever doesn't happen, doesn't happen.

You ask me:

And you say that you can help all kinds of people, but you also say that you are contradictory in order to get some people to leave. If you can help everyone, why should they leave?

That is how it is. I can help everyone. When I say that I can help everyone, I do not mean that everyone needs to be helped, because it depends not only on me. It depends on the person I'm going to help. It's fifty-fifty. The river flows and I can drink from it, but must everyone drink? - it's not obligatory; some will leave. This may not be the right time for them, and no one can be helped if the time is not right.

Some cannot be helped because they are closed. You cannot force, you cannot commit violence. Spirituality happens in deep passivity; when the student is passive, only then does it happen. If I find that you are too active on your part, or if I find that you are too closed, or if I find that the time has not come, the best thing that can happen is that you leave me. ...because otherwise you'll just be wasting your time - not mine, because I don't have time - you'll just be wasting your time.

In the meantime, you will collapse. You must be somewhere in the world, in the world. You must be somewhere else because that is where you will mature. You are wasting your time here if your time has not yet come. It's better to leave. You must be in the world for a little while longer. You must endure some more suffering. You are not yet ready, you are not mature, and maturity is everything, because the Master cannot do anything; he is not a doer. If you are ripe and the Master is present, something from the whole flows through the Master and reaches you, and the ripe fruit falls to the ground. But the unripe fruit will not fall, and it is good that it will not fall.

So when I say I am contradictory, I mean that a certain situation is being created, not by me, but by the whole through me. So people who are not ready should not be allowed to waste their time in any way. They have to go and learn a lesson, go through the suffering of life, reach a certain maturity, and then come back to me. I may not be here - then there will be someone else. Because it's not about me or anyone else: all enlightened people are the same. If I am not there, if this body is not there, somebody else's body will function for the whole, so there is no need to hurry. Existence can wait forever. But immature, you cannot be helped.

There are teachers - I don't call them Masters, because they are not awakened, they are teachers - they will not let even an immature person leave. They will create all sorts of situations that man cannot avoid. They are dangerous because if a person is not mature, they destroy him. And if a person is immature, and something is given when the season has not yet come, it will not be creative, it will be destructive.

It is the same as teaching a small child about sex, and he does not know what it is, this need has not yet arisen in him: you are destroying his mind. Let the thirst arise, let the need arise; then he will be open, ready to understand.

Spirituality is just like sex. Sex requires a certain maturity; by the age of fourteen the child will be ready. It will have its own need. He will start asking, he would like to know more and more about it. Only then will it be possible to explain certain things to him.

The same thing happened with spirituality; at a certain maturity need arises; look for God. The world is already finished; you have lived it from beginning to end, you have seen it from beginning to end. He's finished; it no longer attracts you, it has lost its meaning. Now the need arose to know the meaning of existence itself. You have played all these games and now you know all the games. Now no games attract you, the world has lost its meaning - then you have gained maturity.

Now you need a Master, and there are always Masters, so there is no need to rush. The master may not be in this form, not in this body - in another body - the form doesn't matter, it doesn't matter what body. internal quality Masters are always the same, the same, the same. The Buddha repeated again and again: "Taste the taste of the sea anywhere; it is always salty." Similarly, the Master always has the same taste. This is the taste of awareness. And Masters always exist; they will always exist, so there is no need to rush.

And if you are not finished with the world, if there is an unfulfilled desire to know sex, to know what money can bring, to know what power can give you, then you are not ready. The spiritual need is not one need consisting of many needs, no. It occurs when all needs have lost their significance. The need for the spiritual cannot exist together with other needs - it is impossible. It has your whole being, completely. It becomes only one desire. Only then can the Master help you in some way.

But there are teachers. They would like you to latch on to them, and they would latch on to you, and they will create situations in which if you run away, you will always feel guilty. The master creates an atmosphere around him in which, if you live here, you live of your own free will. If you leave, you leave of your own free will. And when you leave, the Master doesn't want you to feel guilty about it, so he gives the situation such a tone that you feel: "This Master is not the Master", or: "This master is not for us", or: "He's so controversial it's absurd." He puts all the responsibility on you, so you don't feel guilty. You simply walk away from it, completely cleansed and washed from it.

That's why I'm inconsistent. And when I say "with a purpose" it doesn't mean I'm doing it; I'm just like that. But "with a purpose" has a meaning, and that meaning is this: I would not want you to feel guilty about this when you leave me. I would like you to take full responsibility. I would like you to feel that, "This person is wrong," and so we leave. Not that you are wrong, because if the feeling that you are wrong comes into your being and it was not good, then it will again be a destructive, destructive seed within you.

The master never possesses you. You can be with him, you can go away, but there is no possession in it. He gives you complete freedom to be with him or go away. This is what I mean: you are here to celebrate with me; share with me all that I am. But, if at a certain moment you feel like you want to leave, then turn your back and never look back in my direction, and don't think about me, don't feel guilty.

There is a huge problem involved in this. If you feel guilty, you can leave me, but in order to make amends, you will turn against me. Otherwise, how will you make amends? You will constantly curse me. It means that you are gone, but still not gone yet. In a negative way, you have stayed with me, and that is more dangerous. If you need to be with me, be with me in a positive way. Otherwise, just forget about me: "This person does not exist" - why go on cursing him? But, if you feel guilty, you must balance it. If you feel guilty, guilt is heavy and you prefer to curse me. If you curse, then there is a balance, and then in a negative way you will remain with me. You will move with my shadow. This is again a waste of your time and your life, your energy. So when I speak with a purpose, I create a situation... whenever I feel that a certain person is not ready, a certain person is not yet mature, a certain person needs to mature a little more in the world, or a certain person is too intelligent and cannot trust , he needs a teacher, not a Master, or a certain person should come to me with some determination on his part, but he was brought just by chance ...

It can bring you. Your friend came to me, and you came along with him. Then you were caught, hooked - but you never planned to be here; you were going somewhere else - by chance. When I feel that you are here by chance, I would like you to leave, because this place is not suitable for you. I would not want anyone to stray from their path. If you can meet me along the way, fine. If the meeting happened naturally, if it was meant to happen, if it was destined, you were infinitely ready and it had to happen, then that's fine. Otherwise, I would not like to waste your time. In the meantime, you could learn a lot.

Or when I feel that someone has come to me for some reason that is not the right reason...many people come by wrong reason. Someone may have come to me just to feel a new ego arise in him, the ego that religion can give, the ego that sannyas can give. You can feel very special, extraordinary, because of religion. If I feel that someone has come for it, then that is not the reason to be near me, because the ego cannot be close to me.

Someone may have been attracted by my ideas - this is also the wrong reason. My ideas may appeal to your intellect, but intellect is nothing. It remains a foreign element for all being. Unless you are attracted to me and not what I say, you will be here for the wrong reason. I am not a philosopher and I am not teaching you any doctrine.

Otherwise, go: the world is great; why are you hooked? And always remember: if you are here for the wrong reason, anyway, you will always feel hooked, as if something happened that should not have happened. You will always feel uncomfortable. I will not be your homecoming. I will become a jailer, and I would not like to become a jailer for anyone. If I can give you something, something of value, that is freedom; that's why I say "with a purpose". But don't get me wrong; it's not that I do something, I'm like that. I can't stop doing this even if I wanted to, and Krishnamurti can't do anything even if he wanted to. He, in his own way, is a flowering - I am in my own way.

One day the following happened: I received a message from a mutual friend who is my friend and also a friend of Krishnamurti... Krishnamurti gave me a message saying that he would like to meet me. I told the messenger that it would be completely absurd; we are at opposite poles. Either we can sit in silence - that would be good - or we can have eternal arguments that will not come to any conclusion. It's not that we're against each other, we're just different. And I say that Krishnamurti is one of the greatest enlightened people ever born. It has its own uniqueness.

This must be understood very well. It will be a little difficult. Unenlightened people are almost always the same. They don't differ much from each other. Darkness makes them the same, ignorance makes them practically the same. They are copies of each other, and you cannot find out which one is the real one; they are plaster copies. In their ignorance, people are not very different from each other, they cannot be different. Ignorance is like a black blanket that covers everything. What's the difference? - maybe a difference of degree, but it's not a difference of uniqueness. Usually, ignorant people exist like a faceless crowd. If somebody becomes enlightened, he becomes absolutely unique. Then you cannot find another like him, not only at this moment in history, never. Neither in the past nor in the future will there ever be such a person as Krishnamurti, and there never has been. Buddha is Buddha, Mahavira is Mahavira - unique blooms -

Enlightened people are like mountain tops. Ordinary ignorant people are like simple earth; everything is practically the same. Even if there are differences, they are like this: you have a small car and somebody else has a big one, and you are uneducated and somebody else is educated; you are poor and somebody is rich... It is nothing; in reality, these are not differences. You can be in power and someone is poor and a beggar on the street, but these are not differences, this is not uniqueness. If all your belongings, your education and your power are taken away from you, then your presidents and your beggars will look the same.

Viktor Frankl is considered one of the great psychoanalysts in the West. He developed a new trend in psychoanalysis: he calls it logotherapy. He was in the concentration camps of Adolf Hitler and recalls in one of his books that when they got into the concentration camp along with hundreds of other people, everything was taken away at the entrance, everything is your watch, everything. Suddenly, rich people, poor people, everyone became the same. And when you went through the gate, you had to go through an inspection, and everyone had to be completely naked. Not only that, but they shaved everyone's heads. Frankl remembered that thousands of people, shaved, naked - all of a sudden, all distinctions disappeared; it was the total mass. Your hairstyle, your car, your expensive clothes, your hippie clothes - these are the differences.

Ordinary humanity exists like a crowd. In fact, you do not have souls, you are just part of the crowd, its fragment, a plaster copy or plaster copies imitating each other. You imitate the neighbor, the neighbor imitates you, and this happens all the time.

Now people who have studied trees, insects, and butterflies say that nature is constantly copying. Butterflies copy flowers, and then flowers copy butterflies. Insects copy trees, and then the tree copies insects. Therefore, there are insects that can hide among trees of the same color, and when the trees change their color, they also change their color. Now they say that all nature is constantly imitating each other.

A person who becomes enlightened is like the peak, Everest. Another enlightened one is also like a peak, another Everest. Deep down they have achieved the same thing, but they are unique. There is nothing in common between enlightened people - this is a paradox. They are means of expressing the same whole, but there is nothing in common between them; they are unique tools.

It creates serious problem for religious people, because Jesus is Jesus and he doesn't look like Buddha at all. Buddha is Buddha and he is not like Krishna at all. People who are impressed by Krishna will think that Buddha is missing something. People who are impressed by Buddha think that Krishna is somehow wrong. Because then you have an ideal, and you judge from the ideal, and enlightened people are just individuals. You cannot set any standard; you cannot judge them by ideals -- there are no ideals. Inside they have something in common: it is divinity, it is that they are mediators for the whole, but that is all. They sing their different songs.

But if you can remember this, you will be able to better understand the highest climax of evolution, which is the enlightened person. And don't expect anything from him; he can't do anything. It just exists that way. Simple and natural, it lives its own life. If you feel some affinity with him, move towards him and celebrate with his being, be with him. If you don't feel any affinity, don't create any antagonism; you are simply moving somewhere else. Somewhere else, someone must exist for you. Together with someone you will feel attuned.

Then don't worry if you don't feel attuned to Muhammad and let him do his thing. Do not worry about it. If you feel attuned to Buddha, Buddha is for you; drop all thoughts. If you feel attuned to me, then I am the only enlightened person for you. Buddha, Mahavira, Krishna... throw them in the wastebasket. If you do not feel attuned to me, then throw me in the wastebasket and move according to your nature. There must be a Master somewhere for you. When a person is thirsty, there is water. When a person is hungry, there is food. When a person is in dire need of love, there is a beloved. When a spiritual desire arises, it cannot really arise unless there is someone who can satisfy it.

This is deep harmony, ritambhara. This is hidden harmony. In fact - if you will let me say, because it will seem absurd - if there is no enlightened person here who can satisfy your desire, then desire cannot come to you. Because the whole is one: desire arises in one part of it; in another part somewhere it is waiting to be executed. They come together; the growth of the disciple and the master happens at the same time... but it will be too much. When I was looking for my enlightenment, you were looking for your discipleship. Nothing happens without the whole creating at the same time the situation to satisfy it. Everything is interconnected. It is so deeply interconnected that you can relax, no need to worry. If you really have a need, you don't even have to look for the Master, the Master will have to come to you. If the disciple does not come, then the Master comes.

Muhammad said, "If the mountain does not go to Mohammed, then Mohammed goes to the mountain." But the meeting must take place; it's a foregone conclusion.

The Qur'an says that a fakir, a sannyasin, a person who has renounced the world, should not enter the palace of a king who is powerful and rich. But it so happened that one of the greatest Sufis, Jalaluddin Rumi, often came to the imperial palace. There was a suspicion. The people gathered and said, "This is not good, because you are an enlightened person. Why do you go to the imperial palace, when it is written in the Qur'an that? .. And Muslims adhere only to the Qur'an; you cannot find any other people who would be so obsessed with the book. "It is written in the Quran that this is bad. You are not a Muslim. What can you answer? What answer can you give? The Koran says that a person who has renounced the world should not come to people who are rich and endowed with power. If they want, it is they who should come." Jalaleddin laughed and said, "If you can understand, then here is my answer: whether I come to the king's palace or the king comes to me, whatever it is, it is always the king who comes to to me. Even if I go to the palace, it is the king who always comes to me. That is my answer. If you can understand, you will understand. Otherwise, forget about it. I am not here to follow the Qur'an, but I tell you that whatever it is, whether Rumi comes to the palace or the king comes to Rumi, it is always the king who comes to Rumi because he is thirsty and I am water, which will quench his thirst." And then he said, "Sometimes it happens that the patient is so sick that the doctor has to come to him - and of course the king is very, very sick, he is practically on his deathbed."

If you cannot come, then I will come to you, but it will happen. You can't escape it because we both grew up together in a subtle hidden harmony. But when that happens, when the disciple and the Master meet and feel attuned, it is one of the most musical moments in all of existence. Then their hearts beat in the same rhythm; then their consciousnesses flow in the same rhythm; then they become parts of each other, members of each other.

Until that happens, don't stay. Forget about me. Think of it like a dream. Get away from me as soon as possible. And I will do my best to help you escape, because then I am not for you. Someone else somewhere is waiting for you and you must come to him or he will come to you. An old Egyptian wisdom says: When the student is ready, the Master appears.

One of the great Sufi mystics, Zunun, used to say, "When I reached the highest, I told the divine that: 'I have been looking for you for so long, so long, an eternity.' you have already reached me, because until you reach me you cannot begin your search."

It all seems paradoxical, but if you go deeper you will find a very deep truth hidden in it. It's true: even before you heard about me, I had already reached you - not what I'm trying to reach; here's how it goes. You are here not only because you wanted it, I am not only here because I wanted it. There has been a certain coincidence, then only one Master is the Master. This creates a lot of unnecessary bigotry.

Christians say, "Jesus is the only begotten son of God." This is the real truth; if attunement has happened, then Jesus is the only begotten son of God - for you, not for everyone.

Ananda says again and again about the Buddha that no one has ever achieved such complete, supreme enlightenment as the Buddha - Anuttar samyak sambodhi - has never been achieved until now by anyone. This is the real truth. Not that it hasn't been achieved by someone else before; millions have reached before, but for Ananda this is the real truth. For Ananda there are no other Masters, only this Buddha.

In love, one woman becomes all women, one man becomes all men - And in surrender, which is the highest form love, one Master becomes the only God. That is why those outside cannot understand the disciples. They speak different languages, their languages are different. If you call me "Bhagwan", it cannot be understood by those outside; they will just laugh. To them I am not Bhagwan, and they are quite right; and you are quite right too. If you feel attunement with me, in that attunement I must become Bhagwan for you. It is a loving relationship and the deepest attunement.

Second question:

Some bhakti sects teach that meditation is the highest aspect of love: one must first love an ordinary person, then a guru, then a god, and so on. Could you tell us about this method?

Love is not a method. This is the difference between all other techniques and the path of bhakti, the path of devotion. There are no methods in the path of devotion. Yoga has methods; not in bhakti. Love is not a method - to call it a method is to depersonalize it.

Love is natural; it is already in your heart, ready to explode. The only thing to do is to let her. You create all sorts of obstacles and obstacles. You don't allow her. It is already there - you just have to relax a little and it will come, it will explode, it will blossom. And when it blossoms for an ordinary person, suddenly the ordinary person becomes extraordinary. Love makes everyone extraordinary: it is such an alchemy.

An ordinary woman, when you love her, is suddenly transformed. She is no longer ordinary; she is the most extraordinary woman ever. No, you are not blind, as others say. In fact, you saw the unusualness that is always hidden in any ordinary. Love is the only eye, the only vision, the only clarity. You saw in an ordinary woman all women - past, present, future - all women are gathered together. When you love a woman, you embody the very feminine soul in her. Suddenly, she becomes unusual. Love makes everyone extraordinary.

If you go deeper into your love... because there are many obstacles to going deeper, because the deeper you go, the more you lose yourself, fear arises, you become trembling. You start avoiding the depth of love, because the depth of love is like death. You create obstacles between yourself and your lover, because a woman seems like an abyss to you - she can swallow you - she is. You come out of the woman: she can swallow you up: that is what you are afraid of. She is the womb, the abyss, and if she can give you birth, why not death? In fact, only that which can give you birth can also give you death, so you are afraid. The woman is dangerous, very mysterious. You cannot live without it, but you cannot live with it either. You cannot go very far from it, because suddenly the further you go, the more ordinary you become. And you cannot come very close, because the closer you come... You disappear.

This conflict is present in every love. Therefore, you must compromise; you don't go too far, you don't get too close. You stand somewhere right in the middle, balancing yourself. But then love cannot go deep. Depth is achieved only when you drop all fear and jump at your own risk. There is a danger, and the danger is real: that love will kill your ego. Love is poison for the ego - life for you, but death for the ego. You must make the jump. If you allow intimacy to grow, if you come closer and closer and dissolve into the essence of a woman, now she will not only be unusual, she will become divine, because she will become the door to eternity. The closer you get to a woman, the more you feel that she is the door to something beyond.

And the same thing happens to a woman when she is with a man. She has her own problems. The problem is that if she gets close to the man, but the closer she gets, the more the man starts avoiding her. Because the closer a woman comes, the more and more afraid the man is. The closer the woman comes, the more the man tries to avoid her, finding a thousand and one excuses to leave. Therefore the woman must wait; and if she waits, then the problem arises again: if she does not take any initiative, it looks like indifference, and indifference kills love. Nothing represents greater danger for love than indifference. Even hatred is good, because at least there is a certain relationship between you and the person you hate. And the woman is always in trouble... if she takes the initiative, the man simply avoids her. No man can stand a woman who takes the lead. This means that the abyss emanating from itself is approaching you! - before it's too late, you run away.

This is how Don Juans are created. They run from one woman to another. Their lives are hit and run, because if you get too involved in it, then the abyss will swallow you up. Don Juans are not loved, not at all. They seem to love because they are always on the move - every day a new woman. But such people are in deep fear, because if they stay with one woman for a long time, then intimacy arises, and they become intimate, and who knows what will happen? Therefore, they live a certain amount of time; before it's too late, they run away.

Byron loved almost a hundred women during his short span of life. He is the archetype of Don Juan. He never knew love. How can you know love when you move from one to the other, from the other to the third, from the third to the fourth? There must be a season for love; it takes time for it to settle down; she needs intimacy: she needs deep trust; she needs faith. A woman always has a problem - "What to do?" If she takes the initiative in her own hands, the man will run away. If she pretends that she is not interested, then the man will also run away because the woman is not interested. She must find the middle ground: a little initiative and a little indifference together, a mixture. But both are bad, because compromises won't let you grow.

Compromises never let anyone grow. Compromises are calculation, cunning; it is like business, not love. When lovers are truly not afraid of each other and not afraid to drop their egos, they jump into each other at their own peril. They jump so deep that they become each other. They really become one, and when this unity happens, then love is transformed into prayer. When this union happens, then suddenly a religious quality comes into love.

First, love has the quality of sex. If she is superficial, she will be relegated to sex; in fact, it will not be love. If love becomes deeper, then it will have the quality of spirituality, the quality of divinity. So love is just a bridge between this world and that, sex and samadhi. That's why I keep calling it the journey from sex to superconsciousness. Love is just a bridge. If you don't cross the bridge, sex will be your life, your whole life, very ordinary, very ugly. Sex can be wonderful, but only with love, as part of love. By itself, he is ugly. It is like: your eyes are beautiful, but if the eyes are taken out of your eye sockets, they become ugly. The most beautiful eyes will become ugly if you tear them out of the body.

It happened to Van Gogh: no one liked him because he had a small, ugly body. Then the prostitute, just to encourage him, not finding anything else to appreciate his body, praised the ear, "You have the most beautiful ears." Lovers never talk about ears, because there are many other things that are worthy of praise. But there was nothing here - the body was very, very ugly, and so the prostitute said, "Your ears are very beautiful." He came home. Nobody has ever appreciated anything in his body, nobody has ever accepted his body; it was the first time, and he was so trembling that he cut off his own ear and went back to the prostitute to present it. Now the ear was completely ugly.

Sex is part of love, of a greater world. Love gives beauty, otherwise it is one of the ugliest acts. That's why people have sex in the dark: even they don't like to see themselves in action that was presented at night. You see that all animals make love during the day, except for man. No animal has to worry about doing this at night - the night is for rest. All animals love during the day; only man loves at night. A certain fear that the act of love is a little ugly... And no woman ever makes love with her eyes open, because the aesthetic sense is more developed in a woman than in a man. They always love eyes closed to see nothing. Women are not pornographic, only men are.

That's why there are so many photographs, drawings of naked women: only the man is interested in seeing the body. The woman is not interested; they have a more developed aesthetic sense, because the body is something animal. Until it becomes divine, there is nothing to look at. Love can put a new soul into sex. Then sex is transformed -- it becomes beautiful; it is no longer sex -- something transcendental has appeared in sex. He became a bridge. You can love a person because he satisfies you in sex. It's not love, it's just a deal. You can have sex with a person because you love; then sex follows you like a shadow, like a piece of love. Then it's beautiful; then he no longer belongs to the animal kingdom. Then something from the beyond has already entered, and if you go on loving the person more deeply, gradually, sex disappears. Intimacy becomes such a satisfaction that you don't need sex anymore; love is sufficient on its own. When that moment comes, then the possibility arises that prayer will blossom in you.

When two lovers are in such deep love that love is so deeply satisfying and sex is simply dropped -- not that it has been dropped, not that it has been repressed, no; it has simply disappeared from your consciousness without leaving even a scar behind it - then two lovers are in such a total oneness... Because sex separates. The very word "sex" comes from a root that means separation. Love unites, sex divides. Sex is the root cause of separation.

When you have sex with a person, a man or a woman, you think that it brings you together. For a moment it gives you the illusion of unity, and then suddenly a huge division comes in. That is why after every sexual act there is frustration, depression. You feel that you are so far from your beloved. Sex separates, and when love goes deeper and deeper and more and more unites you, you don't need sex. Your inner energy can meet without sex, and you will survive in such unity.

You can see two lovers when sex disappears: you can see the ardor that comes to two lovers when sex disappears: they exist as two bodies with one soul. The soul surrounds them; it becomes the heat surrounding their bodies. But this rarely happens.

People end up having sex. At the most, when they begin to live with each other, they begin to influence each other - at the most. But love is not just an impact; this is the union of souls - two energies meet and become whole. When this happens, only then is prayer possible. Then both lovers in their unity feel so satisfied, so excellent, that gratitude arises; they begin to say a prayer.

Love is the greatest thing in all existence. In fact, everything is in love with everything. Whenever you come to the peak, you can see that everyone loves everything. Even when you can't find anything like love, you feel hate - hate just means that love is going wrong, that's all - when you feel indifference... indifference only means that love was not brave enough to to explode. When you feel that a person is closed, it only means that he was so much afraid, felt so much insecure that he could not take the first step. But everything is in love.

Even when an animal pounces on another animal and eats it - a lion pounces on a doe and eats it - this is love. It looks like violence because you don't know. This is Love. An animal, a lion absorbs a deer into himself... very rude, of course, very, very rude and primitive, like an animal, but he still loves. Loving each other, they absorb each other. The animal acts very rudely, that's all.

The whole existence is in love: the trees love the earth, the earth loves the trees - otherwise how can they exist together? Who will hold them? There must be a common connection. It is not only the roots, because if the earth is not in deep love for the tree, even the roots will not help. There is a deep invisible love. The whole existence, the whole cosmos revolves around love. Love is ritambhara. That's why I said yesterday: Truth plus love is ritambhara. The truth itself is too dry.

If you can understand... Right now there can only be intellectual understanding, but keep it in your memory. One day it may become an existential experience. I can feel it.

Enemies love each other, otherwise they wouldn't worry about each other? Even a person who says there is no God loves God because he goes on saying there is no God. He is obsessed, fascinated, otherwise why bother? And an atheist spends his whole life trying to prove that there is no God. He loves God so much and fears God so much that if he were, there would be a huge transformation in his being. Why be afraid, he constantly repeats - "There is no God." In his effort to prove that there is no God, he shows a deep fear that God is calling. And if God exists, then he cannot remain the same.

It is just like a monk walking down the street of a city with his eyes closed or with his eyes half closed so as not to see women. He keeps saying to himself, "There is no woman here. It is all maya, an illusion. It is just a dream." But why keep repeating that this is just a dream, trying to prove that there are no objects of love? - otherwise, monasteries will disappear, monasticism will disappear; the whole way of life will be shaken.

Everything is love and love is everything. From the grossest to the highest, from stone to God, this is love...

many layers, many steps, many degrees, but this is love. If you can love a woman, you can also love a Master. If you can love the Master, you can also love God. To love a woman is to love the body. The body is beautiful - there is nothing wrong with that - a real miracle. But if you can love, then love can grow.

It happened that a great saint of India, Ramanuja, was passing through the city. A man came and he must have belonged to the type of people who are usually attracted to religion: the ascetic type, the man who tries to live without love. Nobody has ever been successful. No one will ever succeed because love is the basic energy of life and existence. No one can succeed by opposing love. The man asked Ramanuja:

I would like you to initiate me. How can I find God? I would like to be accepted as a student.

Ramanuja looked at the man, and you can see that the man is against love; he is like a dead stone, completely dried up, without a heart. Ramanuja said:

First tell me this: Have you ever loved anyone?

The man was shocked because a man like Ramanuja is talking about love? - such an ordinary mundane thing? He said:

What are you saying? I am a religious person. I have never loved anyone.

Just close your eyes and think a little. You must have loved, even if you were against it. Perhaps you loved not in reality, but in your imagination...

The man said:

I am totally against love, because love is the whole image of maya and illusion, and I want to get out of this world, and love is the reason why people cannot get out of this. No, not even in the imagination!

Ramanuja insisted. He said:

Just take a look inside. Sometimes in a dream an object of love should have arisen.

That's why I don't sleep much! But I'm not here to learn love, I'm here to learn prayer.

Ramanuja became sad and said:

I cannot help you, because a person who has not known love, how can he know prayer?

Since prayer is the purest love, the essence of love is as if your body has disappeared, only the spirit of love remains; as if the lamp were no more there, only the flame; as if the flower had disappeared into the earth, but the fragrance was still in the air - that is prayer. Sex is the body of love, love is the spirit; then, love is the body of prayer, prayer is the spirit. You can draw concentric circles: the first circle is sex, the second circle is love, and the third circle, which is the center, is prayer. Through sex you open the other's body, and through the opening of the other's body you open your own body.

A person who has never had a sexual relationship with anyone does not feel his own body, because who will give you that feeling? No one has touched your body with loving hands, no one has caressed your body with loving hands, no one has embraced your body; how can you feel the body? You exist as a ghost. You don't know where your body ends and the body of another begins.

Only in a loving embrace does the body first take shape; the beloved shapes your body. It shapes it, it shapes it, it surrounds you and gives you the definition of your body. Without a lover, you don't know what type your body is, where in the desert of your body there are oases, where flowers grow, where your body is most alive and where it is dead. You do not know; you remain strangers. Who will introduce you? In fact, when you fall in love and someone loves your body, for the first time you become aware of your body, aware that you have a body.

Lovers help each other to know their body. Sex helps you understand the other's body, and through the other, get a sense and definition of your body. Sex makes you corporeal, rooted in the body, and then love gives you a sense of yourself, soul, spirit, atma - the second circle. And then prayer helps you to feel not-self or brahma or God.

These are the three steps: from sex to love, from love to prayer. And there are many dimensions of love, because if all energy is love, then there will be many dimensions of love. You love a woman or a man - you get to know your body. You love the Master - you become acquainted with your personality, with your being, and through that acquaintance, suddenly, you fall in love with the whole. The woman becomes the door to the Master, the Master becomes the door to the divine. Suddenly, you merge into the whole and come to know the deepest essence of the whole being.

Jesus correctly said, "Love is God," because love is the energy that moves the stars, that moves the clouds, that allows the seed to grow, that allows the birds to sing, that allows you to be here. Love is the most mysterious phenomenon. This is ritambhara.

Last question:

Do Masters ever yawn?

Yes, they yawn, but they yawn totally. And that is the difference between an enlightened person and an unenlightened one. The difference is only in the totality. Everything you do, you do in part. You love - only a part of you loves; you are asleep - only a part of you is asleep; you eat - only a part of you is; you are yawning - only a part of you is yawning, another part is against it, controlling it. The Master lives totally, whatever happens. If he eats, he eats totally; there is nobody but the process of eating. He walks... he walks; there is no walker here. The walker does not exist, because where will he exist? - the walker is so total. When you yawn, you are here. When a Master yawns, there is only yawning.

And if I haven't convinced you, you can ask Vivek; this will be proof. You can ask the witness.

A look at the charlatan Osho Rajneesh - from the standpoint of the religion of Orthodoxy

Cult of Rajneesh(Osho) "Quinton hovered in the skies of the East, where it is more terrible than in the underworld of the West."

(G.K. Chesterton)

According to the famous Orthodox researcher of sects Mikhail Medvedev, “the cult of Rajneesh is one of the most destructive for the consciousness of adherents. The technique of internal growth in the cult lies in the fact that the spiritual growth of the adept is directly dependent on the approach and attachment to the personality of the guru. All this is coupled with the idea of supposedly personal gain.

Dynamic Meditation in India - humble soviem without debauchery

Doctrine of Osho Rajneesh

Rajneesh teachings is a mixture of Tantrism with self-made revelations and the delirium of Rajneesh himself. , which occupies a special position in Hinduism, is the path of permissiveness. Before Christianity spread to India, Tantrism reached a level of brutality, cruelty, sorcery and prejudice that is often incomprehensible to modern consciousness. In its grossest forms, it includes .

Osho teachings- The topic is complex and far from unambiguous. This teaching captivates ordinary citizens (oh, who among us does not dream of love - huge and all-encompassing?), and famous people. So, for example, in the media, there is information that Osho Rajneesh is fond of the teachings. She stated at a press conference in Yaroslavl that she would learn slowness and a special look at the surrounding reality from Osho.

However, this is not surprising, because Osho Rajneesh, the founder of the doctrine of meditation as a universal method of comprehending life, spoke many times in his speeches about homosexuality. These thoughts have been transformed over time, and at the moment are most accurately reflected in the lectures. "About men: all about the modern man «.

Proceedings of Osho(books without a logical idea and meaning, as well as outright plagiarism and census of old books) are actively purchased by gays and lesbians in retail outlets belonging to the brand " Indigo". So what is it all the same: unbridled sex without restrictions or the great love of everyone for everyone and everything?

However, the followers and faithful students of Osho Rajneesh are fierce opponents of the point of view that this is a doctrine of sexual tolerance and permissiveness, they believe that sex, correctly understood and accepted in the soul, is very, very far from promiscuity.

plays a central role in teaching dynamic meditation”(three phases of intense movement and catharsis result in two phases of calm and relaxation).

« Founder of a single religion» urged his followers

"stop time by plunging into the moment."

He preached "liberation from one's own "I", from conscience. He said that you need to live without thinking about anything, without burdening yourself with thoughts about the past, or the future, or about the family, or about daily bread. And as the only way to do this, he pointed to his system, including meditations, chants, ritual dances, similar to the dances of the first hippies.

“I became my own universe,” Rajneesh explained.

After intense meditation, he was seized by a kind of cosmic despair or an urge to commit suicide: become a god or die! Over time, all questions dissolved and left, and a “great void” was created in his brain. He says that on March 21, 1953, he fell into a featureless, bottomless abyss of nothingness. Obviously, that's exactly what happened. Rajneesh fell into the bottomless abyss of his manic pride and devilish seduction, under the influence of drugs and experienced syphilis.

“I became non-existent,” he admitted. “I felt a huge presence around me in my room… a strong vibration… a huge explosion of light… I was drowning in it… That night the door to another reality opened… the real Reality… It was nameless… but it was there.”

At that moment, something completely alien took possession of Rajneesh.

He himself described it this way:

“That night I died and was born again. But the one who was born had nothing to do with the one who died… The one who died died completely, nothing was left of him… After the explosion, there was only emptiness. Whatever happened before, it wasn't me and it wasn't mine";

“That night another reality opened its door, another dimension became available. This experience shakes you to the core. You can never be the same after such an experience, it will bring new visions into your life, new qualities ”;

“On that day, the twenty-first of March, a person who lived many, many lives, millennia, just died. Another being, absolutely new, not at all connected with the old, began to exist ... I became free from the past, I was torn out of my history, I lost my autobiography. That night I died and I was reborn. But the man who was reborn had nothing to do with the one who died... The man who died died totally; there was nothing left of him ... not even a shadow.

Possessed Imp

The experiences described by Bhagavan Rajneesh are very reminiscent of the process of demons entering a person. The person obsessed with them really becomes completely different. It is obvious that Rajneesh experienced a diabolical initiation that night. Later, members of his family admitted that he was no longer the same person that he used to be.

Just possessed by the Devil - Guru Osho Rajneesh

Researcher Tal Brook claims that Rajneesh is indeed possessed by the devil. He has the quality of a complete possession, a kind of antichrist who is "really connected to the other side of the universe."

Brook tells the story of Ehart Flozer, one of Rajneesh's faithful disciples, who recounted encounters - gang rape, forced sexual partner exchanges, forced homosexuality, abortions, countless deaths and suicides in the Poona community. Female favorites such as Laxmi, Rajneesh's number one witch, were thrown into the streets of India penniless. Others tell stories of satanic communities, spiritual vampirism, souls being robbed of the will to live, countless suicide victims.

“She was crazy about him, crazy with this Rajneesh,” the old nun explained, speaking of Isabella, a Spanish girl from a noble family. - But Rajneesh used her and threw her away. She was a fragile bird, and he crushed her... But she continued to believe in Rajneesh, repeating that it was just a test of her devotion... She ended up in a lunatic asylum in Pune... mumbling all sorts of nonsense... God! I tell you - he is the devil! .

Rajneesh said: "Meditation is a state of pure consciousness without any content." To achieve it, he directly called on his followers to rage - he advised every morning to jump with their hands up, shouting: “Hu! Hu! Hoo!", recommended making faces in front of a mirror, imagining yourself without a head, buzzing through your nose, walking on all fours around the room and growling like a dog, sucking milk from a baby bottle, and generally "being an astronaut of your inner space" .

In the stories about the cult of Rajneesh, it is really about the kingdom of darkness, as it were. They are somewhat similar to the stories of the orgies of the ancient Druids in England, when a huge horned god, sitting on a throne, like the embodiment of evil, contemplated the dirt-covered altar. These people who exalt themselves as God are like little antichrists, and whose

“the coming, according to the work of Satan, will be with all power, and lying signs and wonders, and with all unrighteous deceit” (2 Thess. 2:9, 10).

Any traditional religion brings light, kindness with it, but Rajneesh, realizing to whom he sold his soul, associated himself exclusively with death. He later recalled:

“Loneliness gripped me from the age of 7. Loneliness has become my nature. This death has become for me the death of all attachments. Whenever my relationship with someone started to get intimate, that death stared at me. From that day on, every moment of consciousness of life was invariably associated with the consciousness of death.

To match his inner nature, he spent his gatherings. Meditation at the Rajneesh ashrams includes specific dances where participants are blindfolded, undressed, and put themselves into an ecstatic trance. Hundreds of thousands of residents of Madras, Bombay and Calcutta gathered for his lectures, ending in mass shaking and ripping off clothes. Many times, such "dances" in Rajneesh groups, for example in the USA, ended in group sex.

Here are the words of the adept Rajneesh Ma Prem Paras: “Once you begin to question the mind, sooner or later you will fall into the abyss of meditation.” It is into the abyss of madness and the power of demons that the followers of Rajneesh break down.

No matter what the defenders of this kind of “spirituality” say, it all very much resembles the ritual rites of Satanists.

Those who did not accept his teachings were declared narrow-minded and stupid, while Rajneesh attributed the halo of a “misunderstood genius” to himself: “Many great mystics behaved like fools, and their contemporaries were completely at a loss: how to figure out their life - and the greatest wisdom was present in her. To be wise among you is really foolish. Nothing will come of this venture; you'll only create a lot of trouble." This is a very comfortable position in relation to critics. Since you criticize me, it means that you have not yet grown up to my level, which means that you are narrow-minded and unspiritual individuals. But this is pure swindle and megalomania!

The Fake Teachings of Sex Guru Bhagawan Osho Rajneesh

How real the teachings of Rajneesh do not correspond to those false sugary pictures from his life that his followers paint for us can be seen from his following passages:

"Easy life. Don't complicate it with pretense. Nobody urinates. So only in textbooks. Everyone writes - this is life. Love blossoms out of the dirt of sex. Compassion comes from the dirt of anger. And nirvana is from the dirt of this world ”;

“Considering yourself a rooster is crazy; but to consider yourself a human being is even more crazy, because you do not belong to any form ... You belong to the formless ... And until you become formless, nameless, you will never be mentally healthy ”;

"You came to me. You have taken a dangerous step. It's risky, because next to me you can get lost forever. To come closer can only mean death, and nothing else. I look like an abyss";

“I can only help you become nothing. I can only push you into the abyss... into the abyss. You will not achieve anything, you will simply dissolve. You will fall and fall and dissolve, and the moment you dissolve your whole being will experience ecstasy”;

"When I initiate you into sannyas, I initiate you into this nameless, homeless death";

"A real, perfect person ... has no attachments."

Like other sectarians, Rajneesh predicted a very imminent approach to a worldwide catastrophe: “This crisis will begin in 1984 and end in 1999. All types of destruction will reign on earth at this time - from natural disasters to suicide by the achievements of science. In other words, floods not seen since the time of Noah, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and everything possible will be given to us by nature ... There will be wars that will bring humanity to the brink of nuclear war, but Noah's ark will not save it. Rajneeshism is the Noah's ark of consciousness, a corner of calm in the center of a typhoon... The catastrophe will be global and inevitable. It will not be possible to hide from it only in my teaching.

In early 1984, Rajneesh expanded on his prediction of an alleged catastrophe to come, noting that Nostradamus' prophecy would be fulfilled and AIDS would kill 2/3 of the world's population. At the same time, he declared to his followers: “I will not say that the Rajneeshists will survive the catastrophe, but I can say with absolute certainty that those who survive will be Rajneeshists, and the rest will be monkeys (that is, not grown up to the level of the Rajneesh “superman”, - ed.) or commit suicide. In the end, the rest don't matter."

Unlike other gurus who preach self-denial, Rajneesh immediately became known as the sex guru of India, preaching complete renunciation of oneself through absolute indulgence to one's desires. He frankly calls for premarital sexual relations, "open" marriages and the destruction of the family, free sex. "Suppression is not a word in a sannyasin's vocabulary," was his ad in Time magazine. Rajneesh encouraged tantric (sexual) yoga, ecstatic dancing, stripping, and even drug use as a means of meditation. Sterilization of women as an anti-pregnancy remedy is also a common practice. “The path to desirelessness lies through desire,” Rajneesh instructed his followers.

“Develop your sexuality, don't repress yourself! he called. - Love is the beginning of everything. If you miss the beginning, there will be no end for you ... I do not inspire orgies, but I do not forbid them either. Everyone decides for himself."

Rajneesh wrote: “When in meditation you have a moment of enlightenment, a glimpse of some kind of ecstasy, let it happen, let it penetrate into the depths of you and delve into it yourself.” Usually, when Rajneesh's henchmen were brought to a state of ecstasy, people committed such indecencies that they were later afraid to remember. But they just believed Rajneesh and followed his advice.

The “love” preached by Rajneesh in practice turned out to be the most unbridled sex without any restrictions, including group sex. That is why he was nicknamed the "sex guru".

However, the students and followers of Rajneesh vehemently object to this view. Thus, Swami Satya Vedanta wrote: “Bhagavan does not teach 'free sex' or sexual tolerance as misunderstood. On the contrary, he declares in no uncertain terms that sex, properly understood, has nothing to do with promiscuity.

The resolution of this dispute can be found in Osho's quote on the topic of sex, which quite clearly and unambiguously reflects the clear position of Rajneesh on this issue:

“Sex exists everywhere, it is nothing, it is not at all mysterious. If you want to understand sex, it is enough to understand animal sex, and everything that is applicable to sex in animals is also applicable to man. In this sense, a person is nothing more";

“There is nothing sinful about pure simple sex ... There is no need to hide it behind the beautiful word “love”. There is no need to create a romantic fog around him” (, p. 5);

“It has to be a pure phenomenon: the two feel at this moment that they would like to connect on a deeper level, that's all. No obligation, no duty, no obligation in this. Sex should be full of play and prayer” (, p.6);

“I give you complete freedom. My efforts are here only to help you go beyond that; thus, if you are homosexual, you must go beyond homosexuality; if you are heterosexual, you must go beyond heterosexuality” (, p. 50);

“A baby in a crib plays with his genitals, and the mother comes in and removes his hands. Now this is a shock to the child; he becomes afraid to touch his own genitals. And it's so nice to touch them ... it's so relaxing. By touching them, the child achieves a non-sexual orgasm; it's just a pleasure. The natural urge to touch the genitals, to play with them is so beautiful” (, p. 55);

“When sex becomes connected, merged with comprehension, a completely new energy is born - this energy is called Tantra ... Real Tantra is not a technique, but love. This is not a technique, but a prayer… You can stay in a tantric connection for hours… The mantra is focused on a different kind of orgasm… A tantric orgasm can be called an orgasm of the valley” (, p.70-74);

“Normal sexual orgasm looks like crazy, tantric orgasm is a deep, relaxed meditation… Tantric love act can be done as many times as you want… Just keep playing and don’t think about sexual intercourse at all. It may or may not happen” (, pp.76-77).

Not only the preaching of freedom of sexual life attracted Rajneesh. “Every sannyasi,” he wrote, “must make a great contribution, for we are trying to realize a great dream in which all religions can meet, in which the earth can become our home - not divided into nations, races and skin colors.” This dream will be realized by the followers of Rajneesh - "enlightened" or going to "enlightenment".

The Ashrams of Rajneesh became nurseries and incubators for the "new people of the new world". And, of course, only Guru Bhagwan will help them show the path to "enlightenment". "Everyone has the potential to become God... God is a state of consciousness... it is a way of enjoying life right here and now." "Enlightenment" is a leap into the unknown, and in order to make it, you need to surrender with your whole soul to Bhagwan, remove the mental barriers in front of him.

"When you become a disciple, when I initiate you... I'm just trying to help you find yourself."

Osho propagated the ideal of a new man as a person capable of enjoying a full-blooded physical life and at the same time reaching the heights of the spirit. He called such a person Zorba-Buddha, choosing Buddha as a symbol of the soul, and Zorba as a symbol of the body (Zorba is the hero of one of the novels of the Greek writer Kazantzakis, endowed with a huge potential for love of life).

The pseudo-guru said: “Live the life of a Zorba completely, and you will naturally enter the life of a Buddha… The Zorba is only the beginning… The Zorba is an arrow. If you follow it correctly, it will lead to the Buddha ... Sooner or later, when you allow your Zorba to achieve full self-expression, there will be nothing left for you but to look for something higher, more perfect and majestic. ”

Osho taught his students not to suppress the Zorba. Live intensely, he urged, reject nothing, accept and explore everything: matter and spirit, soul and body, love and meditation. “Go deep into all the experiences of life,” Osho said.

Assigning himself the strange title of "Man of the Planet" Rajneesh repeatedly spoke hostilely about traditional religions: "We are making a revolution ... I burn old scriptures, destroy traditions ... Shoot me, but I will not convert to your faith." He called all orthodox religions "anti-life."

“I am the founder of a single religion,” Rajneesh declared, “other religions are a hoax. Jesus, Mohammed and Buddha simply corrupted people... My teaching is based on knowledge, on experience. People don't have to believe me. I explain my experience to them. If they find it right, they accept it. If not, then they have no reason to believe in him.

Representatives of new religious movements in Russia are literally obsessed with the requirements of respect for their organizations and teachings. At the same time, in most cases, they themselves consider it quite acceptable to offend the religious feelings of believers of traditional religions, who make up the majority of the Russian population.

What Rajneesh said and wrote was in no way respectful. This is nothing but insults and incitement of inter-religious hatred:

“Any religion that sees life as meaningless and teaches you to hate it is not a true religion. Religion is an art that shows how to live life. But these shops, which have appropriated the name of religions, do not want the person to become truly religious, because then there will be no need for a priest”;

“All the religions of the past are for the sake of life, none for the sake of the living, none for the sake of laughter. No religion perceives a sense of humor as a property of religiosity. That is why I say that my religion is the first religion that considers man in his totality, in his naturalness, perceives man as a whole, as he is. Holiness doesn't mean something sacred to me, but something accepted in its entirety... It's the first religion that doesn't reject anything from your life. She accepts you as a whole, as you are, and finds ways and methods to make the whole more harmonious ... ";

“All religions have become politics. They use religious terminology, but there is politics behind it all. What is Islam? What is Hinduism? What is Christianity? They are all political groups, political organizations doing politics under the guise of religion... The Temple is no more. The temple has disappeared, it has become politics”;

“Christian priests have been trained for two thousand years, but not a single Jesus has come out of them, and not a single one will ever come out, because you cannot teach to be Jesus. You cannot produce Jesus in a factory. And these are factories, these theological colleges. There you release priests, and if these priests are downright boring, dead, burdensome, then it is not difficult to understand that the whole religion will become the same ... Of course, these Christian priests are dead, everything is planned for them ”;

“A truly religious person cannot be a Christian, a Hindu, a Buddhist. Religion is absolutely useless. Well, what is the use of the temple? What is the use of the mosque? Why do we need churches? ;

“If this land ever reaches true religiosity, then we will stop teaching Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism - for this is one of the most serious sins in the world.”

He also had bad relations with Hinduism. In India, he is better known as "Ngariya" Rajneesh - a fierce teacher who destroyed ancient myths and beliefs, traditions and teachings. “I teach extreme rebellion,” he declared. - If we want to change society, we must be in the highest degree honest and truthful, we must speak out against him.” Many years ago, at the Second Hindu Religious Congress, where the head of Hinduism, Shankaracharya, chaired, the views of Rajneesh caused strong irritation of representatives of the main currents of official Hinduism, who after that diligently dissociated themselves from him.

Characteristics of Pseudo-Guru Osho Rajneesh

The infamous destroyer of ancient Indian traditions and beliefs, "spiritual terrorist" and "sex guru" Rajneesh was born on December 11, 1931 in a Jain family, adherents of one of the ancient religions of India, in the remote village of Kuchvada in the province of Madhya Pradesh, in Central India. His parents named him Rajneesh Chandra Mohan.

Later, this person became known as Bhagwan Shri Rajneesh (or Rajneesh), which translates as "that blessed one who is God", or Osho ("oceanic", "dissolved in the ocean"). His disciples called him: "acharya" ("teacher") and "bhagwan" (which means "holy man" in Sanskrit).

Rajneesh was the eldest of his five sisters and seven brothers. His childhood was overshadowed by the fact that his father, unlucky in business, was often on the road. Rajneesh's father was replaced by his grandfather, to whom he was very attached.

He spent the first seven years of his life with his grandparents, who gave him complete freedom to be himself. The death of his grandfather, whom he loved very much, had a profound effect on his inner life.

From early childhood, Rajneesh, who declared that he came to enlightenment, completing the fast he began 700 years ago in another life, was obsessed with the idea of death.

“Death took a long look at me before life began,” he muses. “Loneliness has become my essence.”

A Hindu astrologer told Rajneesh's parents that the boy would "die" every 7 years until he was 21. It is then that he will finally experience sudden enlightenment. When Rajneesh was 7 years old, his grandfather died; At 14, he almost drowned himself. To the ups and downs of fate, he actively added his own stupidity - he threw himself from high bridges into swift whirlpools, where a rotating funnel of water sucked him in and then carried him back. In such a strange way, he wanted to prove his theory of "cooperation with divine providence in all things."

Osho Rajneesh - communes and communism

In his youth, his greatest passion was reading, but he read quite specific literature for the future guru. During this period he was dubbed a communist (!), because he intensively read Marx and Engels. He even organized a circle of young people, where communist ideology was regularly discussed and opposition to religion expressed. He and his friends believed that socialism would solve all of India's economic problems. At this time, he is an atheist, openly criticizing religious rituals and blind faith in holy scriptures. But gradually there was a disappointment in socialist ideas. Rajneesh realized that he would not receive any dividends here, and announced to his associates in the Marxist circle:

"Only a revolution in consciousness, and not in politics, can bring peace and happiness."

This transition from infatuation with communism to the birth of the idea of creating one's own religion took place sometime between 1945-1950.

Rajneesh was the son of relatively wealthy parents, so he could afford to get a good higher education. In 1957 he graduated from the university and received a diploma with honors, a gold medal and a master's degree in philosophy. After that, he taught philosophy at two Indian universities from 1957 to 1966.

Later, he also tried his hand at occult magic, telekinesis and yoga breath control. He began to travel a lot in India and preach. He wandered on foot and rode a donkey, telling everyone how they can change and be transformed in order to survive. According to his student, who later found the strength to leave this sect, Eckart Floser, in an interview with Forward magazine, Rajneesh's sermons were not very successful, and by 1970 he was nothing more than a tired, poor man, who, however, was very much mistaken, believing that he owns a certain gift and power.

Since 1969, Rajneesh began to initiate his first students, giving them new names and a medallion with his image. In Bombay he decided to create a group of people whom he could begin to teach. Gradually, he overgrown with his students, the room where he lived, no longer contained them.

I am looking for spiritual students, seekers and the rich, please do not disturb the poor!

Then in 1974, Rajneesh moved to the rich Indian city of Pune (120 miles south of Bombay). During this same period, he organized his own neo-Sannyasin international movement. A commune began to form around him, attracting more and more people from the West, "searching for spiritual truth." By the mid-70s, the pseudo-guru was already hosting traveling VIPs, movie stars such as Diana Ross, and even Ruth Carter Stapleton, Jimmy Carter's sister. His bright scarlet-robed sannyasin followers flooded the streets of Poona to the delight of local shopkeepers. A rapidly growing community of 7,000 people soon formed. Countless others made regular visits.

In 1981, Osho came to America, where his followers bought a huge ranch and founded the commune of Rajneeshpuram.

Subsequently, Osho ashrams were formed in other places in India, as well as in 22 more countries, including the USA, England, Germany (in Cologne, Munich, Hamburg), France, Canada, Japan, Russia and a number of other countries. Rajneesh's sermons found their addressees. Up to 50,000 people per year passed through the Pune School of Song and Meditation alone, where the movement is headquartered (OSHO Commune International, 17 Koregaoh Park, Poona 411011 MS India). By 1984, Rajneesh gathered about 350 thousand followers, whose average age was 34 years.

Rajneesh's tape-recorded speeches were published and replicated in the form of many books and pamphlets, which were then distributed throughout the world.

Osho Rajneesh Pseudo Guru Centers

Today, more than 500 Rajneesh meditation centers operate around the world. The international meeting place for the followers of this movement is the International Osho Commune in Pune, governed by an elected committee of 11 women and 10 men.

The Osho Commune-owned Multiversity offers hundreds of workshops, groups, and courses presented across its nine departments:

  • Osho School of Centering,
  • Osho School of Creative Arts,
  • Osho International Health Academy,
  • Osho Meditation Academy,
  • Osho School of Mysticism,
  • Osho Tibetan Pulsing Institute,
  • Osho Transformation Center,
  • Osho School of Zen Martial Arts,
  • Osho Academy of Games and Zen Training.

Belonging to the Osho movement, at least until 1985, was symbolized by a kind of clothing (sunrise colors: red, orange, pink), a wooden chain on which hangs an amulet with the image of Osho and a new name.

Osho movements in the CIS and former USSR countries

In the CIS countries, groups on meditation, astrology, and psycho-training have been created in organizations of the Osho movement. In Belarus, Rajneeshists operate in Minsk, in Ukraine - in Kyiv and Odessa, in Georgia - in Tbilisi, in Latvia - in Riga.

In Russia, Osho's followers created their own organizations in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh (operated since 1996 under the name Tantra Yoga, 30-40 followers), Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and other cities.

In Moscow, the Rajnishevsky Meditation Center "ATMA" operates under the leadership of Soldatov A.V. and Kosikhina V.S., Osho Moscow Center, "Eastern House" under the leadership of Marikhin and other groups of followers of Rajneesh.

Rajneeshists are also actively infiltrating Russian schools. It is known that the Rajneeshists some time ago conducted their classes at secondary school No. 984 in Moscow.

Osho Center conducts regular seminars. In May 1997, the following programs were offered to those who participated in the “Touching Tantra” seminar: “practical tantra yoga, paired exercises, breathing techniques, various tantric techniques, work with chakras, work with the body, ... overcoming barriers in choosing partners, overcoming difficulties in communication between a man and a woman, ... Tarot cards.

Since recently, the Yamskoye Pole Moscow club has been hosting a “meditation disco” every Sunday, where you can not only dance, but also roll on the floor, make faces, yell, jump, bark and whistle. The disco is held by the head of the association "Eastern House" Swami Anand Toshan (in the world - Igor Marihin). Toshan completed a course of study at the Multiversity in Pune and received a spiritual initiation - sannyas. After that, he returned to Russia and began to translate the books of Rajneesh into Russian. Then, together with several friends, he traveled around the country, preaching the teachings of the Master at seminars and lectures. Toshan called his group “Osho Gypsies”, because he had to spend several years “on wheels”. Having recruited followers, Toshan founded the East House center, which includes an Indian dance school, an art studio, meditation training and an Osho disco.

Rajneesh assigned a large role to ecstatic dance - spontaneous movements without worked out steps and memorized positions.

“The body is forgotten, only movement remains. Feel like a tree in the rain in a strong wind.

Therefore, everything is allowed at the Osho disco that does not interfere with others. You can, for example, remove everything from yourself. Or, conversely, wear the most exotic clothes. The role of the DJ at the console is performed by Toshan himself. He looks at the dancers and, depending on their mood, puts on certain music. He did not forbid arranging sexual orgies during such "dances".

As reported in the press from the founding of the Pune center, some visitors to the commune returned with stories of sex orgies and drug use in the Osho communities. Some researchers believe that the word “orgies” is hardly applicable to Osho’s practices, since Rajneesh does not divide the manifestations of life into positive and negative, like many Hindu cults, in Osho’s doctrine, the concepts of good and evil are blurred.

One of the spiritual practices widely used in the Rajneesh cult is the so-called "dynamic meditation". It is explained that allegedly with her help

“the consequences of previous life experience are removed, energy is acquired.”

Each session begins with chaotic breathing to the beat of a drum. Due to the hyperventilation of the lungs accompanying such breathing, a person gets drunk from excess oxygen. He is advised to scream, roll on the floor, do any involuntary movements. special condition, experienced at the same time by a person, is explained as something mysterious, possible only thanks to a certain secret that the guru possesses. In fact, according to Professor Dr. Margaret Theiler Singer (University of California), this phenomenon has a clear physiological explanation and is nothing more than a trick.

In the cult of Rajneesh, professional psychotherapists worked together with the guru. Leaders inspire people that the person himself is to blame for his previous painful condition, since he allegedly was inadequate in his behavior. After a few days of "cure" people lose the ability to think for themselves, they become people without their own biography, "existing here and now." Now they are ready to accept the "new doctrine". Gurus are especially emotionally perceived by female followers, they are the majority in the sect. religious rite looks like this. Rajneesh shouts out the words: “Life! Death! Despair! Happiness!". They mix, and ultimately it means - "nothing". This mumbling brings students into a trance, similar to meditation. In this state, a person has practically no prudence, a person is out of reality.

Among the meditation practices offered to adepts developed by Osho, there is one called “Die Consciously”.

Becoming a sannyasin (monk) in the cult of Rajneesh, a person completely loses his own will. Therefore, sannyasins can only exist in groups, obeying the will of the leader. The cult of Rajneesh, at least for his American followers, is characterized by a special fanatical devotion of adherents, even against the background of other destructive cults. For example, when Rajneesh hinted that a woman burdened with children cannot achieve enlightenment, many female sannyasins were sterilized right there in the Laguna Beach cult center.

In his cult rites, Rajneesh often introduced his adherents into a state of nirvana (translated from Sanskrit as "bliss", "enlightenment") with the help of drugs, and individual meditation sessions in the ashrams of the "holy man" ended in fights and stabbings. There were cases when sectarians, maddened by Bhagwan's lamentations and drugs, broke each other's arms and legs.

Psychiatry and psycho followers of Osho Rajneesh

Psychiatrist Betty Tilden(Great Britain) believes that without the help of medicine, the adherents of the Rajneesh cult are not able to return to normal life. The psychotherapists who worked for Rajneesh were cold, calculating and ruthless people. For Rajneesh, the life and health of his followers were worthless:

“I am not interested in your possibilities. If you feel bad, then it should be so. All this is done in the name of love ... ".

According to a journalist from Munich, he is familiar with a dozen former followers of Rajneesh, who were completely mentally destroyed after they left the sect. Here are just two examples of such consequences.

Hamburg musician, 26 years old. Cannot find contact with reality, instantly forgets everything he just said, says, "he has absolutely no energy."

Nurse from Berlin, 29 years old. Suffered from "withdrawal". After leaving the sect, she could not think consistently and committed suicide.

Those who have joined the destructive teachings and practices of Rajneesh eventually become a kind of zombie. A thirty-year-old Perm doctor - a follower of Rajneesh - once said: “My inner experience, the spiritual joy I experienced, testify that the path to true freedom lies through the liberation of a person from the voice of conscience. The voice of conscience in a person is the voice of the devil, which once again confirmed that this organization can be quite confidently classified as potentially the most dangerous in terms of possible participation in the organization of anti-social actions, including terrorist acts.

And this is not surprising, for Rajneesh achieves the complete elimination of all doubts and the mind itself from his followers:

“The mind is like a disease… When there is a mind, you are always caught. The mind rapes you, forces you, you are its prisoner... Meditation is throwing the mind out, it is freeing yourself from the burden. You don't need to carry all your excrement with you, otherwise you will get dumber and dumber";

"The mind is the deadest thing in you... The mind is as dead a part as the hair... The human mind is a monkey";

“Both the one and the other: both the hair and the mind are dead, do not carry them around. It will be wonderful! Make sure that dead particles do not accumulate in you ... Mind is a dead part of you, it is excrement ”;

“Meditation is nothing but emptying, becoming nothing. Emptiness should be your path, goal, everything. From tomorrow morning, start emptying yourself of everything that you find inside ... - everything that you find, just throw it away. Everything that turns up, indiscriminately; empty yourself";

“When the mind is needed, use it like a mechanical device; when you're not using it, set it aside and forget about it. Then become useless and do something useless - and you will begin to live a full happy life ”;

"If you become aware, ugliness, ugliness appears."

Many of his followers "hooked on the needle", becoming drug addicts. “Among my patients there were many people from the environment of Bhagwan, who healed in Pune,” said Professor Claude Olivenstein, director of the Paris drug treatment center"Marmotan". According to the words of the former guru's ward, Time magazine stated that there were cases when sectarians, mad from the rituals of the sect and from drugs, broke each other's legs and arms.

Mikhail Medvedev and Tatyana Kalashnikova, researchers of the harm of meditative practices for human health, wrote: “In the Hindu-occult immersion in the supersensible and in the Christian spiritual life, we have, according to the remarkable researcher of the history of religions L.A. Tikhomirov, “two completely different psycho-spiritual processes that from beginning to end they follow different paths.

A person who follows the path of yogic-occult practice first plunges himself into somnambulistic passivity and causes the soul to disintegrate into separate parts. Having brought himself into a state in which no action is possible, he imagines, by an effort of his disintegrated will, to force the secret of his content from the supersensible. This is the practice of false images and visions, in which the human spirit is even more blinded and drawn into the trap of unusual sensations, from which it cannot free itself. All occult-yogic paths, despite their external diversity, are united in their spiritual essence. Tal Brook, a former initiate of another neo-Hindu guru, Sathya Sai Baba, after visiting Pune, described his impressions as follows:

“The object of horror and adoration in the media, Rajneesh created the image of a “new man” who rejects all norms and traditions. Man, according to Rajneesh, is a hedonistic god who does not depend on anything (except from the inner voice of Rajneesh) and is free to give the cosmos any appearance depending on his desire. This is the dominant pleasure-seeker, existing in himself, owing nothing to anyone. The family is cursed, children are a burden. Bye " neosannyasin"has money, he's wildly having fun. Then interest in him disappears. Murders, rapes, mysterious disappearances, threats, arson, explosions, abandoned children" Ashram members begging on the streets of Pune, drugs are all the rage among the marvelous hybrids in red who consider themselves the audacious pioneers of a new meaning of 'love'.

Christians working in psychiatric hospital Poons will confirm everything that has been said, not forgetting to mention the high level of mental disorders associated with the fact that the ashram has taken political power into its own hands and there is no one to complain about it.”

In early 1981, there were reports of a threat to Rajneesh's life. A strict regime was introduced in the ashram, everyone entering was searched for weapons. A store was set on fire, and an explosion occurred near the ashram's medical center. According to the cult, the attack on the guru in February forced the ashram administration to speed up the search for a new headquarters that had already begun.

India Today

According to India Today magazine, "Police and authorities in Pune are unanimous in their opinion that the incidents were instigated by followers of Rajneesh" because "the last two weeks of investigation have shown that the Rajneesh Foundation is up to its neck in unpaid taxes, misappropriation of donations for charitable purposes , thefts and in criminal cases against members of the sect, the investigation of which had not been completed by the time she left the city.

In 1981, the government of Indira Gandhi stripped Bhagwan's ashram of the right to be considered a religious organization. The US Consulate in Bombay issued a visa to Rajneesh, and on June 1, 1981, having sold the property of the ashram and taking 17 of his most devoted students with him, he secretly flew to New York. After Rajneesh left Pune, his adherents spread throughout the West, setting out to establish "holy cities" throughout Europe, which were planned to be self-sustaining and which were supposed to become an alternative to society, being examples of "sannyas". In the US, efforts have been made to create a model of a "holy city" run by the "teacher" himself. On July 10, 1981, the Chidvilas Rajneesh Meditation Center in Montclair, New Jersey, purchased the Big Magdy Ranch from an investment company in Amarillo, Texas, for $6 million (of which $1.5 million was in cash). Its territory near Madras (Oregon) covers more than 100 square miles. The center was also able to lease 14,889 acres in the same area from the American Bureau of Land Management.

Soon, two hundred followers of Rajneesh from 16 European countries gathered in Big Magdi to enthusiastically welcome the teacher in his new home in September. After some time, the intentions to build "the first enlightened city in America" under the name of Rajneeshpuram (the city of Rajneesh) were made public. On November 4, 1981, the Vasco County Commission voted by a double margin to hold a referendum in May 1982 on whether the Big Magdi farm could be considered a city. Only vote in such cases. locals, and in this case - the followers of Rajneesh, and the result was not difficult to predict: 154 votes for the appearance of the city of Rajneeshpuram and not a single one against.

Big Magdy Ranch

In a short time, in the dusty steppe of Oregon, not far from the provincial town of Enteloop, on the abandoned Big Magdy Ranch, an oasis of Western civilization was created: an airfield, a comfortable hotel with a casino, shopping streets, restaurants. Roads were laid with special buses plying along the routes indicated by the “holy man”. This "miracle" was created by the work of 6,000 adherents of Rajneesh, as well as with the money of 500,000 so-called adept-tourists, who live far from the guru, but who regularly came to Oregon to communicate with their leader and transferred impressive sums to his account.

From the beginning, the cult's attempts to create a paradise in the Oregon desert met with fierce opposition. The legitimacy of the new city was questioned for two reasons: first, the separation clause of the state and church was violated, and second, the Vasco County Commission's referendum decision violated the state's land use laws. There was a threat of dismantling most of the buildings. As a precaution against the decision to dismantle Rajneeshpuram and to show that the organization has influence among municipal services and authorities, the Rajneeshists officially occupied the nearby township, deciding to rename it from Entelope to Rajneesh.

Taking advantage of the fact that, according to local law, it is enough to live in the state for 22 days to get the right to vote in local elections, the guru decided to increase the number of voters in Entelope at the expense of his followers. In New York, San Francisco and other major cities in the United States, Bhagwan's supporters began to invite alcoholics, vagabonds, and drug addicts to the ashram. All this continued until the election of the mayor of the town. The operation "share the dwelling with your neighbor", carried out by Rajneesh, thus gathered 3,500 people in the city of Rajneesh. Bhagwan's followers voted for the right person's guru and Enteloup was renamed Rajneesh.

Most of the forty original inhabitants of Entelope, mostly elderly, were subjected to constant surveillance by the police force of sannyasins, were taxed in favor of the sect and were forced to contemplate a nudist beach established by the city council full of Rajneeshists in the city park. They chose to give up and leave the city. The city grew as the followers of Rajneesh bought up existing houses and built new ones.

Rajneesh Foundation International

Meanwhile, the American Immigration Service continued its investigation on suspicion of violating immigration laws and relevant criminal regulations by members of the organization " Rajneesh Foundation International". More than 30 Rajneeshists, including the leadership, were suspected of fictitious marriages of US citizens with foreign citizens. By the way, the residency requirement of Rajneesh himself was also in great doubt, and the American Immigration Service hoped to prove that he received a visa by exaggerating the severity of his illness.

Homeless people and alcoholics, having done their job, could leave. The order to disperse the suspicious company was given to the personal guard of the guru, and he was guarded by a whole detachment of specially trained militants armed not only with small arms, but also with helicopters (there was even at least one combat helicopter with missiles).

Osho at the head of the killers or revived nightmares - the messiahs of Rajneesh

However, the vagabonds were in no hurry to leave the city of Rajneesh proclaimed by them. They were not going to work for the guru either. Reluctantly, the guru was forced to agree that they remain among his flock. But soon strange events began to occur in the vicinity of the newly-made Rajneeshpuram-Rajneesh. Several times the state police had to investigate crimes very similar in style: people seemed to fall asleep, killed by an unknown poison. Moreover, all the victims were from among the recently appeared adherents of Osho, who took part in the vote. Their corpses were found in different places, but not in the Rajneeshpuram e.

The police understandably suspected the guru and his associates. Sensing danger, Rajneesh did not find anything more witty than to withdraw from secular affairs and take a vow of silence. I must say that he didn’t really deal with “secular affairs”, because he had an army of sectarian slaves.

While Rajneesh retired from the affairs of the commune, taking a vow of silence, a group of his closest assistants committed lawlessness. Major financial scandals in the leadership of the organization became known.

Sheila Silverman

For four years the pseudo-saint was silent. His faithful follower Shila Silverman became the mediator of his communication with the world. She ran the ashram effectively with a hard hand, regularly collected tribute from the sectarians, and of course provided publicity for the reluctant silent man who continued to issue pamphlets calling for "freedom through sexuality."

Sheela personally led the ashram army, numbering about 100 people in its ranks. When the surrounding farmers tried to call on the inhabitants of Rajneeshpuram to observe Christian morality, or at least the elementary norms of human society, Sheela threatened to kill fifteen farmers for every single follower of Rajneesh, declaring that soon the whole of Oregon would be called Rajneeshpuram: “To achieve this, I am ready every bulldozer going to the demolition of this world, paint it with your blood!” . Under the influence of public opinion, the police, and then the FBI, opened a case against the Bhagwan sect. Rajneesh decided to speak, but it was already too late.

About four dozen FBI investigators were investigating directly in Rajneeshpuram. They discovered arms depots, laboratories for the production of drugs, which were regularly added to food for sectarians. During the searches, they found a carefully camouflaged underground passage for the escape of the guru in case of emergency.

On October 27, 1985, the FBI arrested Rajneesh at the airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Bhagwan's own plane had landed to refuel. Rajneesh and eight of his associates allegedly flew to Bermuda.

Exposing the chief priestess of Osho - Sheela Silverman

Shortly before the exposure of the "high priestess" Sheila Silverman, who sensed that clouds were gathering over her, considered it good to move with her personal guards and her next husband to Western Europe. While the pseudo-saint sounded the alarm and gathered his thinned ranks, Sheela withdrew $55 million from the ashram's Swiss bank account and disappeared. What kind of accusations Bhagwan did not put forward against his recent associate. He yelled that Sheela had tried to poison the life of the "saint's" personal physician, made an attempt on the life of the guru himself, killed vagabonds, whose bodies the police found in the surrounding fields ... The "high priestess" was also not inactive. When Interpol tracked down Sheela and her gang in Stuttgart, Silverman willingly told about all the ins and outs of Rajneesh's real activities.

A brief trial of Osho and his sect

The brief trial, held in Portland, Oregon, ended on November 14, 1985. Rajneesh was found guilty on two counts of the federal indictment. The US government structures decided to deport Rajneesh from the country, so he received a purely symbolic punishment: ten years of probation imprisonment plus a $300,000 fine. The criminal pseudo-guru was ordered to collect all his belongings and leave the territory of the United States within five days. The FBI supervised his departure.

In mid-1986, Rajneesh returned to India. Within a few months, the commune in Pune resumed and expanded its psychotherapeutic and meditation programs, which was reflected in the word "Multiversity", which Rajneesh chose as a common name for his teachings and practices.

By the end of the 80s, Rajneesh's health had deteriorated significantly. In the last months before his death, if his health allowed, Rajneesh went out to his students for "meditation of music and silence", and then they watched videos of his previous conversations.

Osho. Life Story of Independent Mystic Rajneesh Bhagwan Shri

The dynamic of the guru-shishya (teacher-student) relationship

Historically and socially, the guru has always held a very prominent and high position in Hindu society. He was identified with the Divine principle: acharya devo bhava. Almost every Hindu family had a guru who acted as a guide, adviser and motivator. In the eyes of the members of this family, his status was very high.

Broadly speaking, we can consider gurus in three different roles.

As a family guru: he also had religious authority, was the head of a religious sect. One who could perform rituals, lead joyful events, such as a celebration on the occasion of the birth of a child in a family, marriage and other celebrations.

As a formal teacher and educator: he taught and imparted knowledge in a school setting.

As a self-realized person who has learned a lot: as a contemplative who understands the inner connection between different things. He is the one who has seen, or known, the truth. The one who resolved all the contradictions of life and achieved peace of mind; the highest state of awareness - samadhi. Once having reached this state, he can become a recluse and withdraw from society, enjoying freedom in a state of bliss. Or he, if he chooses himself, can remain in society and help seekers in their spiritual growth. His presence alone is divine, charismatic, which manifests itself in sympathy, love and blessing.

We will look at the dynamics of the guru-shishya relationship, meaning the guru as a respected, significant person and the disciple as a seeker of truth. First (although it is impossible to evaluate the description of the guru), we can look at his mystical nature as follows:

Guru is a phenomenon, not a person. He has no personality.

Guru is a real being with his own personality.

The Guru is beyond duality.

He is not a thinker or philosopher. He is a seer, drashta. He foresees everything thanks to the highest level consciousness.

He doesn't teach; he points out, as they show the way to the traveler, sitting on the top of the hill.

He is also neither a teacher nor a guide, but a catalyst, the very presence, the words whose gestures can bring rebirth into a person's life.

He does not expect anything from anyone and does not live up to anyone's expectations.

The Guru acts more like a psychotherapist - mainly a healer. Buddha called himself vaidya, healer. The Guru diagnoses our inner disease, gives a prognosis, as well as a medicine (real meditation) for healing and restoring the health of the seeker.

The guru is not the one who changes, he is the one who rebirths. A changed person can return to his weaknesses or commit a sin, a reborn person is unchangeable. If the guru chooses to stay in society, then he heals general ailments - diseases and ailments that are common in society. In this regard, he acts like a rebel - an uncompromising whistleblower, often shocking and taken for a lunatic.

Such a guru may be loved or hated, but he cannot be ignored.

The real guru - the sadguru - does not create miracles, but miracles are created around him.

People come to him with all sorts of questions; the guru answers, but doesn't really give an "answer", but rather helps to remove the question as a whole. Thus, he brings the questioner to the point where he begins a real search, research, study and does not depend on the answer given to him or ready.

During the search for truth, the guru involves seekers, students in a creative dialogue. Through an intense energy process of verbal and non-verbal exchange, the guru reveals the deepest secrets of life and the universe around us. Remarkable examples of such dialogue are found in the Upanishads between Lord Krishna and the great warrior Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita, dialogues between Socrates and Plato and others: conversations between Gautama Buddha and his disciples; famous dialogue between the sage Ashtakvakra and King Janaka. At the present time, such dialogues and conversations were held with the participation of Swami Ramakrishna Paramhamsa, Mahavshi Ramana, J. Krishnamurti and Osho.

The modern enlightened mystic Osho presents the following perspective on understanding the place and role of the guru:

“The role of a guru is to give you a vivid view of reality - not by teaching, but by awakening. Guru is not a teacher; he is the one who awakens. He doesn't have to give you doctrine. If he gives you doctrines, he is a philosopher. If he talks to you about the world as an illusion, discusses and proves that the world is illusory, if he discusses, argues, if he teaches you a doctrine thoughtfully, he is not a guru, he is not a master.

He may be a teacher, a teacher of a certain doctrine, but he is not a master. He is not a guru.

A guru is not one who teaches doctrines. He is the one who gives the method - the method that will help you wake up from sleep. That is why the guru is always the destroyer of your dreams, it is always difficult with him. It is always very easy to communicate with the teacher because he will never embarrass you. Rather, it increases the rate at which you absorb knowledge. It will help you become even more selfish, it will make you more aware. Your ego is getting more and more inflated, now you know more, you can argue better. You can educate yourself, but the guru is always a troublemaker. He will destroy your dreams and deprive you of sleep…”

One Sufi says: "When the student is ready, the master appears." A sincere desire to grow spiritually and a sense of deep belonging - that is what distinguishes one who wants to become a disciple. When, in the depths of his being, a person comes to understand that he needs to find a way out of his unconscious and conditional life, a person appears in a mystical way to become his guide and show him the way. When one starts asking questions and finding out, from that point progressive development begins. It has three stages: the first is interest, the second is discipleship, and the third is becoming a devotee. An interested person learns only mentally, he communicates only on the level of the intellect - but this is only the beginning. If they have an intellectual relationship, the student may develop confidence in the guru. And when they can communicate emotionally, it will make him a student. And when he can communicate with the guru emotionally, trusting him, the person becomes a devotee. A deep connection is established between guru and disciple.

As a student, he views the guru as a teacher. Becoming a disciple, he recognizes the guru as a master. When a deep connection is established, now on an emotional level, a unique kind of love arises. The seeker has already entered the path. The student is not aware that he is a student. He may think he is a disciple, he may think he is a devotee, but his actions are totally unconscious. The student operates with logic. The disciple is guided by love. The follower acts on trust. Trust is the highest manifestation of love. Osho explains:

“And the third and highest state is commitment. In this state, the master and the disciple no longer exist separately: the union has taken place - not just a connection, but a union, a kind of unity. Such was our path in the East. The seeker comes as a student, falls in love with the master and becomes a disciple, one day his love matures, the master and the disciple found each other, truly found each other. As a result of this meeting, an adherent is born. Then the master is no longer a human being, he is already thought of as a deity. That is why we have always called the Buddha 'Bhagwan'."

This is not the Christian meaning of the word "God". Here the meaning is that the devotee has come to a certain point from which he sees that his master only lives in his body, but he himself is not this body. Now he can see the master's transcendental energy. The Master is the incarnation of God on earth. The Master is an intrusion into the otherworldly, the unknown into the familiar.

Discipleship is originally about affection and appreciation. The Guru shows the unconscious and defective state of the disciple; he exposes the student in such a way that the person can see the truth, the real face - as Zen masters do. The attitude of the disciple is total perception and deep gratitude to the guru for showing him the path, unraveling the mysteries and pointing out the truth.

In reality, there is no "relationship" guru - disciple as between two real existing people. Some might say that this is a relationship without connection, because it is based on complete freedom. Guru is, of course, free personality, but he also does not bind the student in any way, and he can do whatever he wants - grow, search, find. Relationships involve dependency. A genuine guru will never want a disciple to become dependent on him. The greatest joy of a guru is to watch the disciple find his own path and move along it - absolutely alone. This is the road from a lonely person to a lonely one. This is the only love that comes from the disciple and the grace from the guru.
