Botanical description: herbaceous perennial plant, a member of the Heather family. The upland uterus has a long rhizome with thin roots, creeping perennial shoots, from which ascending annual stems extend. The leaves are alternate, spherical in shape, with a serrated edge, located on petioles in the lower third of the stem. Greenish-white medium-sized flowers are collected in racemose inflorescences hanging from one side of the stem. The fruit is an oval capsule with numerous seeds.
