Chondroxide purpose. A product for active nutrition and restoration of cartilage condition - Chondroxide tablets: instructions for use, results in the treatment of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis. Composition and release form

Chondroxide is a drug that improves the regeneration of cartilage tissue. The ointment and gel additionally have an anti-inflammatory effect.

The active substance, sodium chondroitin sulfate, takes part in the phosphorus-calcium metabolism process that occurs in cartilage tissue. Chondroitin sulfate is essential for the normal functioning of joints and intra-articular cartilage.

Therapeutic effect of the drug:

  • Regenerating – stimulates the restoration of damaged areas of cartilage tissue by increasing the intensity of the synthesis of proteoglycans, which are one of the structural components.
  • Reducing the processes of degeneration (destruction) of connective tissue.
  • Positive effect on metabolic processes in cells and intercellular substance of cartilage tissue.
  • Reducing the destruction of cartilage tissue, as well as the leaching of calcium from various structures of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Suppression of the activity of enzymatic systems responsible for the breakdown and destruction of cartilage tissue.
  • Anti-inflammatory effect that occurs during the chronic course of the pathological process in cartilage tissue.

Chondroxide helps improve joint mobility and reduce pain that develops against the background of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis.

Chondroxide - tablets with a pronounced chondrostimulating, anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect, used in the complex treatment and prevention of degenerative diseases of the spine and joints. The basis of the drug is chondroitin sulfate, a high-molecular mucopolysaccharide obtained from the cartilage tissue of the trachea of cows. This natural component inhibits the process of destruction of connective tissue, stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, restores the cartilaginous surfaces of joints, improves the composition and quality of synovial fluid, thereby helping to normalize the functional state of the musculoskeletal system.

Release form and components

Chondroxide belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs. It is produced in Nizhny Novgorod by the pharmaceutical company Nizhpharm. The drug is available in the form of white or almost white tablets of round, flat-cylindrical shape, divided in the center by a score line. The pills are packaged in blister packs of 10 pieces. Inside one cardboard box there are 10, 30, 50, 60 or 90 tablets and instructions for their use.

The active ingredient of Chondroxide is chondroitin sulfate. Its content in one pill is 0.25 g. The auxiliary components of the drug are magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, polyvinylpyrrolidone and food additive E470 (calcium stearate).

Action and indications for use

Chondroxide tablets have a complex effect on connective tissue affected by the degenerative process. Its use reduces the severity of inflammation in the joints, improves the production of chondrocytes and synovial fluid, normalizes metabolism in hyaline tissue and restores cartilage damaged by the pathological process. Recently, a variety of diseases of the spine and joints have become increasingly common, and the age of patients who seek medical help is steadily getting younger. Therefore, in pharmacies the range of drugs intended to combat these diseases is extremely large, and almost every year drugs appear on the shelves that help restore the normal structure of cartilage tissue. One of the most popular drugs at the moment is Chondroxide tablets. This is due not only to the fact that it is very effective, but also to its relatively low cost, which makes it accessible to all potential buyers from various social classes.

If we consider the drug Chondroxide, its composition is quite homogeneous; each tablet contains 0.25 grams of chondroitin sulfate as an active substance. It also contains excipients: crospovidone, calcium stearate, magnesium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone). Each tablet weighs 0.48 grams, ranges in color from white with a creamy tint to white with a yellowish tint with small inclusions, and each of them has a chamfer and a score. One package can contain 60 or 30 tablets. This drug is produced in Russia.

Pharmacological properties

The medicine Chondroxide has an anti-inflammatory, regenerating and chondrostimulating effect. Chondroxide takes part in the construction of the basic substance (matrix) of bone and cartilage tissue, and also affects metabolic processes in fibrous and hyaline cartilage. It slows down the course of degenerative processes in connective and cartilage tissue, and inhibits enzymes that affect cartilage tissue and provoke changes in its structure.

This medicine stimulates the biosynthesis of proteoglycans, and also helps the regeneration of the cartilaginous surfaces of the joints and tissues of the joint capsule, reduces inflammation, and increases the production of intra-articular fluid. The drug can prevent the formation of fibrin thrombi in the subchondral and synovial microvasculature, which is important in the process of rehabilitation of patients after traumatic joint injuries.

It has been proven that this drug slows down the progression of such common diseases as osteochondrosis and osteoarthritis, stimulates regeneration processes in articular cartilage, and helps normalize metabolism in hyaline tissue. The drug Chondroxide also improves the mobility of joints affected by the disease and reduces pain. Moreover, the achieved therapeutic effect can persist long after the course of therapy has already ended.

Pharmacokinetics

After a single dose of the tablet at an average dose, the maximum concentration of the drug in the plasma is observed three to four hours later, and in the synovial fluid – after four or five hours. It accumulates in cartilage tissue; the synovial membrane does not prevent its penetration into the joint cavity. The medicine, even after a single dose, is completely excreted by the kidneys (about 24 hours).

Indications and contraindications

This drug is used both for the purpose of prevention and for the treatment of various degenerative-dystrophic pathological processes in the organs of the musculoskeletal system, including osteochondrosis and osteoarthrosis. Of course, before you start using it, you need to consult with an experienced specialist. The fact is that Chondroxide also has contraindications: lactation period, pregnancy and hypersensitivity to any of the components of this drug.

Patients with a history of bleeding and an increased tendency to bleeding should take Chondroxide tablets with caution. During lactation, if there is a need to take this drug, breastfeeding will have to be abandoned for the entire duration of treatment.

It is worth noting that Chondroxide is contraindicated for pregnant women, as it can negatively affect the fetus, causing various developmental defects in the unborn child. That is why a woman should consult a doctor before starting to take any medication. Also, Chondroxide, together with breast milk, can enter the baby’s body and have an adverse effect on him, so you cannot continue breastfeeding a child of any age during treatment.

Side effects

As a rule, this medicine is tolerated quite well. But sometimes side effects such as diarrhea, allergic reactions and nausea are observed. If an allergy occurs, the drug will have to be discontinued.

Almost all drugs have some side effects. True, undesirable consequences from taking medications are observed most often when using maximum doses, with long-term use of the drug, and also if a person is forced to take several different medications at once. If any undesirable effects occur, you need to tell your doctor about it, perhaps he will adjust the dose or simply prescribe another drug.

special instructions

It is possible to enhance the effect of antiplatelet agents, indirect anticoagulants and fibrinolytics used for the prevention and treatment of disorders in the blood coagulation system. Therefore, if the above medications are taken simultaneously with Chondroxide, more frequent monitoring of blood clotting parameters and a detailed coagulogram may be required.

In general, people taking more than two different medications need to remember that they can enhance or weaken the effects of each other. Therefore, in order not to risk your own health, you need to tell your doctor what medications are currently being used. Otherwise, there is a high risk of drug poisoning or loss of treatment effectiveness.

Chondroxide: use and dosage

Take two tablets (500 mg), orally, with a small amount of water. You should drink them twice a day. As a rule, the course of taking this drug should be six months. After the course of treatment is completed, the therapeutic effect of Chondroxide lasts for approximately another three years. This period may vary depending on the stage of the disease and the location of the inflammatory process. If necessary, the doctor may advise you to undergo a second course of therapy, in which case he will determine its duration individually.

For many patients, the negative aspect of treatment with this drug is that it must be taken for quite a long time. Moreover, at the beginning of therapy, obvious positive changes in the patient’s condition may not be observed. It is during this period that some people refuse to continue taking Chondroxide, losing faith in its effectiveness. But such an act is fundamentally wrong - if you are patient and follow medical recommendations, you can get wonderful results.
