To make this dog with your own hands, you will need a foam sheet with an area of 1 square meter and a thickness of up to 2 cm. The dog is made according to the instructions:
- First, you should make a base hat for the child’s head. To do this, you will need to correctly measure the circumference of the child's head so that the hat does not put pressure on his ears.
- From the sheet you need to cut a rectangle measuring 25 cm by 35 cm. Make a dome out of it. This is part of the future muzzle. Coat all ends with glue and glue to the head. Using glue and squeezing with your fingers, shape the nose and the curves of the muzzle. For lower jaw You must use a foam rectangle measuring 12 cm by 14 cm.
- This dog has rather large cheeks. They are made from circles with a diameter of 12-14 cm. It is necessary to draw the projections of the cheeks on the muzzle with a pencil and glue pre-made circles into them.

This spring, our youngest daughter took part in a children's play. She was the Goat. Since the New Year celebrations were over, we had a problem with buying a suit. We had to make the costume ourselves. Our daughter is a lover of complete transformation, and therefore she needed a goat mask.

DIY felt dog mask
To make masks, it is better to buy thick and dense felt, since such material will wrinkle less and fit better on your head. You can use the template shown above, or draw your own, for example, like in the picture below.
First, cut out the dog's face from brown felt. You can immediately sweep the edges to make them stronger. Make large slits for the eyes. Then use beige felt to make spots around the eyes (this will highlight the look). Then embroider the nose with brown threads or also make it out of felt. It is worth noting that it is better to make the mask itself from thick and dense felt; the eyes and nose can be made from thin felt. On the wrong side, sew an elastic band or two ropes to secure the mask to your head. The felt dog mask is ready! If desired, you can make bangs on your head from faux fur.
How to make a dog mask from polymer clay
Making a dog mask from polymer clay is much more difficult and costly than from paper or felt. But the result is worth it. First, make the shape of the muzzle out of papier-mâché. The mold should be thick enough so that it does not press through when sculpting. Then take the clay and roll it into a thin pancake no more than four millimeters thick. Attach the resulting layer to the papier-mâché mold and smooth it. The clay should sit tightly on the papier-mâché mask. If the layer is torn somewhere, then seal the resulting holes with plastic. Smooth out any imperfections. On at this stage also create a wool texture using a toothpick or awl. Tint the mask with clay powder, dry pastels or shadows. Make holes on the sides. Place it in the oven for half an hour or an hour. Remove the mask and let it cool. Now, if you wish, you can paint the mask with paints (it is better to take acrylic ones).
