However, clinical trial data confirming the safety of its use for the treatment of angina, pharyngitis, and other throat diseases in pregnant women do not exist and cannot exist. Similarly, it is not known how safe the drug is when administered to nursing mothers.

This is explained simply: according to the charter of the World Health Organization (WHO), it is forbidden to involve pregnant women and mothers who are breastfeeding in clinical trials. Therefore, although the local effect of the drug, with good tolerance, minimizes the possibility of its negative effect on the developing fetus, Hexoral can be used by pregnant women only under medical supervision.

The remedy Geksoral became a three-time winner of the National Award "Product of the Year" in the nomination "Remedy for sore throat"!

The development of the drug was based on the study of the chemical compound hexetidine. Hexetidine has strong antiseptic properties, which are manifested in a decrease in the oxidative reactions of the metabolism of microorganisms (the opposite effect of the vitamin thiamine).

This discovery allowed the drug to be widely used against gram-positive bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida.

In further developments, it was found that a highly concentrated composition of the substance, when it enters the mucous surface, acts on most strains of bacteria, does not cause resistance of microorganisms to the drug, and is not absorbed into the circulatory system of the body.

Thanks to these properties, hexetidine has been widely used in medicine and has become the main component of the Hexoral preparation. Reviews on the use of the remedy can be found at the end of the article.

Geksoral local antiseptic for external use, it is characterized by antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Additional actions of the drug are analgesic (pain reliever), hemostatic (hemostatic), enveloping and deodorizing.

It is highly active against many types of bacteria, negatively affecting the cell membrane and inhibiting oxidative reactions of metabolism. The drug is effective in the treatment of fungal infections, destroying membrane compounds, leading to their death. These are fungi of the genus Candida and Proteus.

In addition to the main component of hexetidine, depending on the method of application of the drug, the drug may contain eucalyptus and anise oils, peppermint oil, alcohol 96%.

Eucalyptus oil is characterized by antiseptic and analgesic effect. Anise oil has an anti-inflammatory and softening effect. Peppermint oil has bactericidal, antispasmodic and deodorizing properties. Ethanol is a powerful astringent antiseptic.
