Name:

Sinaflan (Sinaflanum)

Pharmacological
action:

Sinaflan- a drug of the group of topical glucocorticosteroids.
fluocinolone acetonide- a substance obtained synthetically, which has a pharmacological activity similar to glucocorticosteroids, has a high glucocorticoid activity and practically does not have a mineralocorticoid effect.

The drug molecule contains additional 2 fluorine atoms, which help to reduce local absorption and enhance anti-inflammatory action.

A drug when applied topically:
- antipruritic action;
- anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory action;
- promotes local vasodilation.

The main mechanism of action of the drug is the inhibition of phospholipase A2. Inhibition of the activity of this enzyme prevents the conversion of arachidonic acid into a pharmacologically active form.
By reducing the activity of arachidonic acid there is a decrease in the number of leukotrienes and prostaglandins, which are the main mediators of inflammation.

A drug by reducing the release of histamine from mast cells inhibits the development of hypersensitivity reactions.

When using the drug Sinaflan the risk of development of exudative reactions decreases, since the active substance of the drug contributes to the narrowing of the lumen of the vessels.

The drug affects protein metabolism, in particular, leads to a decrease in protein synthesis and collagen deposition.

When applied topically, the drug is well absorbed through the stratum corneum of the epidermis and accumulates in the dermis, pharmacologically significant concentrations of fluocinolone are determined in the dermis 15 days after application.

The drug is not biotransformed in the skin.
Systemic absorption is negligible, however, increases when the drug is applied to areas of the skin that have hypersensitivity, including the face, skin folds, damaged areas of the epidermis.
Systemic absorption increases also when applying the drug Sinaflan under an occlusive dressing and with prolonged use of the drug on large areas of the skin.

Medicinal properties

Ointment Sinaflan from what helps, its properties

Average price: ointment - 45-50 rubles, liniment - 49 rubles.

After application to the skin, the drug has several effects at once: it relieves inflammation, suppresses allergic manifestations, and eliminates itching.

The ointment eliminates the accumulation of leukocytes and macrophages in the area of inflammation, reduces the permeability of the walls of blood vessels and tissues, which helps to remove exudate and relieve swelling. It inhibits phagocytosis, the release of substances that provoke inflammation. When applied topically, it has almost no systemic effect, does not affect the functioning of the adrenal glands. Thanks to the ability active substance block cell division, the drug is indicated for the treatment of scaly lichen and keloids.

When applied to the skin, fluocinolone is practically not absorbed into the bloodstream. After absorption from the upper layer of the dermis, it binds to blood proteins, activates the production of liver enzymes. It has the ability to stay in the stratum corneum for a long time: the substance is found in the cells two weeks after the end of therapy. Most easily absorbed through the skin of the face, after application to damaged skin or with occlusive dressings. An increase in the content in the body is also facilitated by prolonged use and treatment of extensive body surfaces.

Transformed in the liver, forming inactive metabolites, excreted in the urine.

Hormonal ointment or not

The therapeutic effect of the drug Sinaflan is provided by the properties of its active ingredient- fluocinolone acetonide. The substance is a glucocorticosteroid, synthetic analogue hormone produced by the adrenal cortex. Therefore, despite the free sale of the drug, it can be used exclusively for medical purposes. Otherwise, the body may develop addiction to Sinaflan and increase side effects.

Mode of application

Before lubricating the skin with ointment, it must be wiped in advance antiseptic. After that, apply Sinaflan, according to the instructions for use, in a transparent layer and rub in a little.

In difficult cases, occlusive dressings can be applied, which can be kept on the affected areas for up to 3-4 days. In this case, the daily amount of Sinaflan should not exceed 2 g.

The duration of therapy is determined depending on the diagnosis and indications of the patient. On average, it ranges from 5 to 10 days, for severe forms of pathologies - up to 25 days or more.

Sinaflan for children is prescribed in the minimum dosage for a course of no more than 5 days.

  • Liniment

Sinaflan is applied to the surface of the skin, previously wiped with a cotton swab soaked in an antiseptic. Treat affected areas 2 to 3 times a day. The recommended course of therapy is for 5-10 days, with severe lesions - up to 25 days.

Liniment can be used for occlusive dressings, but only in limited areas. Maximum allowable amount LS per day - no more than 2 g.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Due to the fact that there have been no studies of possible toxic effects on the fetus, it is forbidden to use liniment and Sinaflan ointment during pregnancy.
