Secrets of cooking dietary dishes

Nutrition in diabetes is not a problem. With such a menu, you do not need to cook your own food separately. The whole family will feel positive result from literate and healthy nutrition. Also, at first, we recommend that you write lists of allowed and prohibited products and look into them more often.

Diabetes during pregnancy is a common occurrence. It may be present in a woman for a long time, or it may appear in an “interesting” position for the first time. In any case, the expectant mother will need a great deal of self-discipline and will to comply with all medical recommendations that will allow you to carry to term and give birth to a healthy child.

General principles

From normal nutrition during pregnancy, nutrition for expectant mothers with diabetes or gestational mellitus differs in a large number of restrictions. Caloric intake for a diabetic pregnant woman should be reduced to 1600-2000 Kcal per day (whereas a pregnant woman has no problems with increased level glucose in the blood and urine can consume up to 2800 and even up to 3000 kcal). For each specific woman, the allowed calorie content for diabetes is calculated individually according to the formula: 35 Kcal per kilogram of weight.

Up to 45% total daily ration should be complex carbohydrates, up to 20% is allocated to proteins and about 30% to fats. The total amount of carbohydrates should not exceed 200 grams per day. For a woman with diabetes, it is important to eat often and fractionally - at least 6-8 times a day.

It will be preferable if the intervals between meals do not exceed 2.5 hours.

Initially, a doctor should help in planning the diet. Only a specialist will be able to assess the ratio of the weight and height of the expectant mother, take into account the duration of her pregnancy (in the first trimester, food should be more nutritious than in the third), compare the level of excess glucose with the norms and calculate the ratio of substances necessary for her in the daily diet.

The basic principles of nutrition for a pregnant woman with diabetes include the following rules:

  • You can not eat a large amount of food at a time, because this can lead to jump blood sugar levels, therefore it is better to divide the product into several meals and eat a little bit;
  • when compiling a diet, one should be extremely careful with foods containing starch and milk (both are sources of glucose);
  • when selecting fruits, fruits with a high content of natural saccharides should be avoided, it is better to choose sour fruits;
  • the main meal is breakfast, the glucose level at the very beginning of the day and throughout the day depends on how it is planned, and since cereals and cereals for breakfast will lead to a jump in sugar, it is better to stop at protein foods and small whole grain breads;
  • you should completely abandon fruit juices, severely limit sweets, desserts, sweets, cookies;
  • The diet of a pregnant woman should include only foods with a low and medium glycemic index.

For convenience, doctors have compiled therapeutic diets that have serial number after the word "table". For diabetics, a diet of the type "Table No. 9" is used, for pregnant diabetics there is a variation of this diet - "Table No. 9a".

Based on the exact composition vitamin complex, the nutrition itself can be corrected - somewhere the content of vitamin C is reduced, somewhere magnesium is added.

A woman who observes such therapeutic diet, be sure to weigh yourself weekly, regularly donate blood and urine to determine the level of glucose, use a home glucometer. In no case should you allow prolonged fasting, as it can lead to an excessive drop in sugar levels and disruption of insulin production. An hour after eating, it is advisable to measure the level of sugar in the blood.

sample menu

When compiling a menu for every day, a woman must be guided by the principle of balanced products. It is desirable that the main meals (and there should be at least three per day) contain all necessary components healthy diet - proteins, fats, complex carbohydrates. And three or four auxiliary meals, which are popularly called "snacks", should be as light as possible.

Based on this principle of reasonableness and balance, let's try together to draw up optimal menu for several days:

  • first breakfast (7.00) – oatmeal on water with a piece of butter, soft-boiled egg, tea with low-fat milk and sorbitol, green apple;
  • second breakfast (9.30) - homemade cranberry juice with sorbitol, apricot;
  • lunch (12.00) - salad from fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, cabbage soup from fresh cabbage in chicken breast broth with the addition of a small amount of low-fat sour cream, stewed zucchini, tomato juice;
  • afternoon snack (14.30) - rosehip broth, whole grain bread, apple;
  • dinner (17.00) - stewed or baked fish, cauliflower, tea with sugar substitute, avocado;
  • second dinner (19.30) - biokefir (about 200 grams);
  • the third dinner (an hour before going to bed) - a green apple or homemade berry juice without sugar.

Here is another useful and correct menu for expectant mother with diabetes:

  • breakfast (7.00) - protein omelet, bran bread, a piece of unsalted and low-fat cheese, green tea with a sweetener, an apple;
  • second breakfast (9.30) – skim cheese with blueberries;
  • lunch (12.00) - fresh cabbage salad with vegetable oil, soup-ukha without pasta and with a minimum amount of potatoes, steamed minced chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes stewed pumpkin, fruit drink;
  • afternoon snack (14.30) - applesauce home cooking(or puree for baby food early age without sugar);
  • dinner (17.00) - steamed fish cutlets, stewed cabbage, zucchini and broccoli stew, fresh vegetable salad, tea;
  • second dinner (19.30) - bio yogurt;
  • the third dinner (an hour before going to bed) - a rosehip broth with a sugar substitute, an apple.

The following should be remembered:

  • When combining allowed foods, remember that most of the diet should consist of vegetables and fruits. Meat and poultry are needed daily during pregnancy, especially during a pregnancy aggravated by diabetes, so there is no place for separate mono-diets and vegetarianism.

  • Try not to skip meals. Get a few food containers and place portions in them for all the receptions for the coming day. It will be easier this way, especially if the woman is working or studying. Even at work or between lectures, you should find time to eat the right portion.
  • When cooking, use easy-to-cook recipes. This will save time and ensure future mother and her baby with everything you need. To such simple meals include buckwheat porridge on the water, boiled pollock, stewed pieces of beef. Avoid exotic foods (fruits and fish) and spices. Of all the spices for a pregnant woman with diabetes or gestational mellitus, only a small amount of dill (in soup or salad) or parsley is acceptable.

Nutrition is an important part of treatment for any disease. Ninth table is a medical diet for diabetics. It was developed by a Soviet nutritionist Mikhail Pevzner .

Its peculiarity is that sugar and products containing it are completely excluded from the menu. Individually, it can be replaced with sorbitol.

The calorie content of the diet is average, it includes easily digestible carbohydrates, fiber. The serving size is determined in consultation with the physician based on the individual's needs and the goals of the dietary nutrition program.

Description of the diet

Nutrition for diabetes is planned taking into account the characteristics against which the disease passes. Blood sugar is the most important indicator for a diabetic and is affected by many foods. The ninth table is prescribed for incipient diabetes and moderate diabetes.

Target diet number 9 according to Pevzner is the normalization of blood sugar levels, the restoration of the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates in the body.

Basic Rules medical nutrition for diabetes:

  • The basis of the diet are healthy and quality products, having a natural origin, rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber.
  • A healthy way of cooking is baking, boiling, stewing, steaming. It is undesirable to fry, cook on an open fire.
  • Spices and salt are subject to restriction, as they enhance secretory function and increase appetite.
  • Nutrition should be fractional, with diabetes they eat often (5-6 times a day), in small portions.
  • Sufficient fluid intake is recommended, especially on hot days. Drinks must be sugar free.

The ninth table is a sparing meal plan that includes a balanced amount of fats, proteins and carbohydrates.

With its help, for a short time, the body comfortably switches to reducing calories and carbohydrates in the diet.

Grocery list

With diabetes, it is unacceptable for a person to experience hunger. This condition can lead to unwanted and grave consequences- destruction of blood vessels, bones, deterioration of vision. The diet of a diabetic should be varied, balanced and satisfying.

Nutrients - proteins, fats and carbohydrates affect blood sugar levels in different ways, this must be taken into account when compiling a menu for every day:

  • Carbohydrates increase blood sugar levels, so they are subject to restriction. At high sugar you should avoid "fast" carbohydrates, which are quickly digested, converted into body fat.
  • Squirrels have a slight effect on the state of sugar in the blood, but are very useful for bones and muscles, which is important for maintaining the normal physical shape of the patient.
  • Fats do not affect the value of sugar in any way, but contribute to rapid weight gain, so they are needed in moderation. Natural fats, such as vegetable or fish, are considered the most useful, they must be included in the diet. But animal fats or trans fats should be limited, especially for those who are overweight.

Which products should be preferred:

  • dietary meats - chicken, turkey, rabbit, beef, veal, lamb;
  • fatty sea fish, seafood, any river fish;
  • offal - tongue, liver, heart, stomachs;
  • low-fat dairy products;
  • chicken or quail eggs;
  • bread from wholemeal flour, with grain, bran;
  • pasta from durum wheat;
  • cereals - cereals and legumes;
  • vegetables, both raw and as part of dishes;
  • fruits and berries, preferably sweet and sour to taste.

In the diet of diabetics, many foods are subject to exclusion or significant restriction . Can't eat fatty sweet food, it is necessary to avoid spicy, salty, smoked, the use of lemonade is unacceptable.

Which products are excluded:

  • fatty meat, pork, lamb;
  • flour and rich products, sweets;
  • cheese, sour cream, butter, cream, curd mass or curds - strictly limited;
  • mayonnaise and other sauces - occasionally;
  • sausage products, smoked products;
  • white rice and semolina - no more than 2 times a week;
  • eggs - no more than 2 pieces per day;
  • sweet fruits - bananas, grapes, figs;
  • vegetables containing starch, potatoes, beets, carrots in excess.

The best thing to do is quit smoking and drinking. Alcohol whets the appetite, so it is no longer possible to control the portion size. Alcoholic drinks inhibit the processing of glucose in the liver, which negatively affects the vessels and the heart.
