Conscious Mind and Subconscious

Rice. 8Z. Human activity is controlled 5% by the conscious mind and 95% by the subconscious. The tools of the conscious mind are logic and reasoning. With their help, we develop will, form faith and formulate intentions. Logical thinking is also involved in the process of creative creation. And the subconscious mind contains myriads of positive and negative associations, from which habits, skills, beliefs, behavior patterns and outlooks on life are formed.

Now let's turn to Fig. 8I. The arrow indicates the main goal of meditation: to take us beyond the analytical mind. In a state of analysis paralysis, change is impossible. No matter how much we analyze the former Self, it will not help us remove old programs and install new ones.

Meditation opens the door from the conscious to the subconscious. We practice meditation precisely in order to gain access to operating system subconscious, where unwanted habits and behavior patterns are stored, and replace them with programs that will help us succeed in life.

Meditation - going beyond the analytical mind
